We bought several of these for our basement. The fan is a pain to assemble but functions ok. However, the light output sucks, no matter what wattage bulbs you put in. If I hadn't waited too long to install the 1st one, I would have returned the rest.

I'm confused by your comment about this fan's lights...
Do the light sockets not run on 120 volts like a normal light socket?
What wattage bulbs are you putting in there?
Is it a normal "medium base" (E26) socket size?

You should see the one I have from 2003 in my room if you think this is ugly.

Spec say 2 E12 bulbs (candelabra). It also mentions 25W max. If this is the max, even with 2 of them it wouldn't be very bright. On the other hand, one of the reviewers mentioned that he was able to use 40W LED bulbs. So I'm also confused. Nevertheless a 2 bulb limit would probably result in a rather dim light situation if this was the only main light source in a room.

Got delivered today. Box looked very small, probably smaller than 42" fan but opened it to confirm. Size isn't mentioned anywhere on the box. Manual have instructions for 52" and 60" fan, assuming they are considering it as 52".
Packed up back, requested return and refund, going back to Amazon.
Very disappointed.

Also, I didn't open blade from plastic packaging but looking at it it seems extremely flat. I doubt that would move any air.
