I am a self-admitted complete noob with welding. I bought a stick welder and could never quite get the hang of it. Did some research and everything I found said this was a great unit for the price if you aren't doing any industrial type stuff and...

I totally agree! The gasless flux is simply amazing and a monkey (like me) can weld with this thing. Just point and click. Works great! I sold my old stick welder after using this 2 times. I bought it for $67.48 so this is an slightly better time to buy.

Ordered it and will take it to my shop and test this thing out . I've only welded with industrial welders but I'll play around with this just to see what it can handle. I'll leave real review once it comes in . Stay tuned

Coupon code dead for me 8/30 am. Correction: user error. I had previously applied the coupon code and then saved for later in cart. It retained the code and I was trying to apply a second time getting error

Too early in the AM. I had previously applied the coupon yesterday then just saved for later in cart as I was ordering other things.
When I moved to cart I was trying to apply the code a second time. It had retained it. So I was getting red • The promotional code you entered cannot be applied to your purchase.
I should have just gone to next step and seen the final adjusted price that the coupon had been applied previously.

To those of you who have this, what's the minimum required amperage? Would it run on a 15 amp outlet?
I have a stick welder that is able to run on 110V/15amp, albeit with very short duty cycles. I'm tempted to upgrade to a MIG, unfortunately I don't have more than 15amp to my garage where I'm planning to use this.

Yes, it can operate from a regular 120-volt, 15-amp outlet, but probably not at its full advertised 135-amp welding output without occasionally tripping the breaker.

A dedicated 15A circuit should handle light flux-core welding at lower settings.

A dedicated 20A circuit is preferable and should let you use substantially more of the machine's capacity.

So:::: it should work on your 15A circuit for small repairs and lighter welding. If you want to run it hard, install/use a dedicated 20A circuit

If you need a cheap way to MIG weld this looks like a good deal. If you are new to welding, be aware that the flux core will be messy and it will create a lot of smoke. Weld outdoors or have some good ventilation. Your helmet/shield will also get covered in soot from the smoke over time. I would recommend buying a pack of lens protectors to save your helmet's primary lens. At 110v you will be slightly limited with MIG but will work on thinner metal. I would not get your hopes up to stick weld on 110, especially if you only have 15amp service. If your laundry room is close to your garage (or wherever you plan to weld), you can get a heavy duty ext cord and use your washing machine outlet which is typically 20amp. I did that with my welder until moving to 220v. the included wire is for mild steel, if you plan on welding stainless, you will need different wire.

I've only used it on 15A 110V outlets and it works fine. I haven't cranked it to 100% yet but at 80% I haven't had any issues with breakers tripping.
