Sonos Arc Ultra with Sub 4 and two Era 300 speakers is a premium living room surround setup that shines for movies, sports, and streaming shows. The system is praised for sounding really good, looking clean, and being incredibly simple to set up, especially if you already use Sonos and want to avoid a full wired A.V. install. The main knocks are the high price, weaker music performance than movies, and recent software and YouTube surround issues that can limit full ambient playback. It is a polished, easy-to-live-with package, but the value depends on how much you want wireless convenience.

If you read my other comment in this thread, I mentioned that this is a good option if you don't want to buy an a/v system and run wires.

Also, the fact that people are considering buying a $2k wireless surround sound system probably tells you they have jobs (and probably have other things to do than to comment on deals they're not interested in).

Of course you could post reviews from reputable sites that call this a POS system. Before purchasing this a few months ago, I looked everywhere and the worst criticism I found is it's expensive...

Thanks OP. This is basically the setup I have in my living room. And I love mine. I also have the Ace headphones, 2 Beams, and 2 Moves. Everyone is entitled to their opinion but I'm not sure why people are hating on people commenting that they like (or dislike) a product. I appreciate all feedback from anyone who actually has experience with the systems. There are definitely big pros for Sonos products.

dead already
It's not dead, Adorama has a terrible way of using codes. It's when you are entering the Payment, it's hidden behind a button to show the promo code boxes.

Order does not qualify for promotion when entering promo code, guess I snooze and loose. The era 100 bundle still works should I get instead?

Unfortunately people always make that apples n oranges comparison.
They are two completely different designs/users.
There are always trade offs even within the two designs.
Those trade offs are personal, they're not universal like people try to portray.

Yes people have been making comments on how something sounds with zero experience listening to it since the dawn of time!
That's here to stay unfortunately!

I purchased a house with wires already running in the family room. I love Sonos sound and have couple of room speakers. Would you recommend this system or a wired one?

A good, wired, dedicated A/V setup should always sound better than a sound bar setup like this one. Removing any biases, it comes down to simple physics. Larger speakers/housings and better spacing.

However the soundbar is easier to setup and many like the appearance better. A higher end soundbar can sound really good but I personally wouldn't pay this much for one when you can find a comparable setup for around 1k.

I'd get the Sonos Amp then. HDMI to the amp which then goes out to your wired speakers. Now can use it for tv and the ease of Sonos for other sound

Depends what you're trying to accomplish.

Wiring is only one of many things when considering a "good" traditional setup.
If that wiring isn't in the proper place won't be that useful.

In general, there are always trade offs & sound is completely subjective.
If you find you love the sound of Sonos, I vote you just stick to it & enjoy.

Folks. This is an incredible LIVING ROOM system that has high wife approval. I have a dedicated 9.2 system in my garage where I set up a full on system. Is the Sonos as good as this? Hell no!

Does the Sonos system sound good? Yeah it sounds really damn good and does the job when I watch sports, movies and shows on streaming. Yeah 2k seems like a lot for this but no other soundbar system has this level of sound, aesthetics, and build quality IMHO.

Heads up for prospective buyers regarding YouTube surround sound:
Previously, the YouTube app could upmix audio to full ambient surround sound across all channels. However, following a recent YouTube update, playback is restricted to front stereo (soundbar only).
I reached out to Sonos support, and they confirmed they are aware of the issue but currently have no timeline for a fix.
If you want true surround sound, you'll need to rely on supported apps like Netflix or dedicated music streaming platforms for now.
