Not that many people have "spare" m.2 drives sitting around since the AI price spikes in all things memory and HDD, but if you do...The SABRENT USB C NVMe Enclosure, Tool-Free M.2 SSD Case (EC-PNVO) for $7 is a solid deal. I have one of these and two of the other model that support M.2 SATA and NVME (EC-SNVE).

I have that 10 bay das from a deal posted a couple years back. It works well but no auto power on for the individual drives. I wonder if there's newer firmware for it

Check the chipset of the device. You can generally google the chipset or do a search from Windows hardware device information. Likely someone has dumped a newer firmware to flash on station drivers or various sites like that. I did that for a UGREEN 4-bay DAS and it supposedly fixed some stability issues with drives going to sleep. In some cases, like the m.2 firmware, you can modify the configurations to change certain power behaviors if you look at the configuration examples and/or documentation.
Whats the difference between these 3? I see the third has a cooling fan so i might go with that, but i dont see the difference betwen the first 2. The aluminum shell might be better for cooling. The first also says "Aluminum shell construction with ABS disk-tray for additional shock absorption." so maybe thats worth it? I kinda want to go for the one with the fan for cooling, but maybe the shock absorption is more worth it?
USB 3.0 Enclosure for 2.5" & 3.5" SATA HDD/SSD $12.39
USB 3.0 to SATA Lay-Flat Docking Station $12.99
USB 3.0 to SATA Hard Drive Dock with Cooling Fan $14.99
