18 is a little cramped. If you plan to cook for a crowd, or do larger meats, I wouldn't compromise especially if you're spending over $1k.

Also, the original kamado Joe 18" is $850. I don't know if the differences here make this one worth the extra money.

I agree, I would get the Big Joe I before getting anything else. I got my classic 2 for $700 so it was hard to pass up, but this is one of those instances that bigger is better.

Yeah, once you go Weber Ranch, it's hard to go back to something under 22 inches.

You can also get free assembly in your room of choice with the classic 2. I didn't check the others but like that I won't have to carry it through my house to get to the back area by myself
