Samsung's 65 inch S90FD is a QD OLED that stands out for its picture quality, glossy finish, and strong sound, especially at the $799.91 Sam's Club price. The set is praised as a top tier OLED, and the free five year warranty adds value. Brightness is the main tradeoff, since it can look dim in bright rooms or with lights on, though settings changes may help. It also lacks Dolby Vision, so it suits buyers who want OLED contrast more than maximum daytime brightness.

Common Questions (5)

  • It can look dimmer in bright rooms, especially with lights on, and some owners wish it were brighter. Turning off power-saving settings and enabling Contrast Enhancer can help, but the panel still may not be bright enough for everyone.

  • Yes, the barcode scan in-store confirmed $799.91 even when shelf signage showed a higher price or "Low Stock." The deal can be location-dependent, with some stores showing limited inventory.

    rlprdrlprdDRtonesomeoneslick

  • No. Samsung TVs, including this S90FD, do not support Dolby Vision.

    YourOnlineHero

  • Yes. The deal includes a free additional 5-year warranty.

    thakoolkid

  • Yes, that can add protection beyond the standard warranty. One owner of an older S90 model reported it failed just after warranty ended, making extended coverage a practical safeguard.

I had an older model S90 that lasted 13 months (just out of warranty). Just be careful, make sure you buy with a credit card that extends the warranty.
We have a 5 year warranty through Costco, Sam's Club is similar. No need for a credit card, that is just bad advice.

The one I went to said "Low Stock" and showed a price of around 1300, I had a friend check one near him and they had 3 in stock with the yellow clearance tag on it. Scanned the barcode and it was $799.91. Good luck calling them to check, terrible customer service.

I realize this is not a "deal" compared to this thread...but sharing for those looking for future purchase: Roku has entered the OLED space, currently exclusive at Amazon. $1199 for 65 and $999 for 55, but YT reviewer expecting (a) this MSRP to drop once rest of retailers can carry them (b) to begin disrupting the OLED pricing models (like what cheaper brands did to LED/QLED).

How are you going to tell an actual owner not to fall into something, lol? I also have a LG G5 to compare it to. I wish the Samsung got as bright as the G5.

Same as you can say to worry about it, see? Both opinions hold equal value. Glad you're enjoying it and still wishing for more brightness. I wish it was dimmer.

Found this at Sam's Club in Memphis (Winchester Rd) last week when going to buy a QLED on sale. For $100 less, picked this one up instead. $499.81 with three remaining after I got mine.
