For just over $2 more, you can get one of the more accurate cheap infrared laser thermometers tested by project farm. The T600. The one he tested had a different Chinese Alphabet name, but the $10 one below appears to be the exact same Chinese thermometer, just with a different Amazon Alphabet name.

Incase anyone is curious, I just compared this to a Fluke infrared thermometer, and this model was consistantly 2 degrees lower for everything i tested against the Fluke.

Nice, better than I expected, ordered another. The calibrate function is single point only as far as I can figure. So not lab grade but totally useful for heat leaks, electrical hotspots and not crying if you break it. Order the $10 model per @coltrane69 above if more precise accuracy is a concern. Time will tell about durability.

Did you test this one. I bought it and when I measured using ice slurry it was reading at 27-28f which is not accurate. Should read 32f so Atleast off by 5f. Maybe I got a lemon but that's what mine was reading it at.
