I know we've seen this for much less in the past, but with the price increasing by $50 tomorrow I thought I'd share just in case someone was interested.

I'm afraid gaming consoles are pricing themselves out of my comfort zone. This is just gonna be one of those things I do far, far less of. Oh well. Watching grass grow is free!!!

Not sure if the deal is still on but I just traded in my son's old
OLED switch at Best Buy and got the Switch 2 for $275 including taxes.

I don't really understand this logic. Bill of Materials + manuf costs + shipping means things are expensive. Does everyone expect to purchase physical goods at a massive loss? You can't run businesses that way. It sucks but Nintendo isn't raising RAM prices themselves and Samsung just upped the CPU/GPU cost 10%

And yet somehow a lot of these companies are still making record profits.

All reports indicate Nintendo has been selling these at a loss which they have never done before with hardware. Could they take a bigger loss? Sure, I guess so. I'm just comparing my Switch 2 to my old Steam Deck now valued at $800 or something and I know which one performs better and is more versatile. So of all the companies it just feels odd to pick on Nintendo for hardware. Now software, I won't argue with anyone on cost.

For original switch I waited until 2019, got it it for around $250. Only to save $50. I don't need a switch 2 since other than Mario kart, switch sports and maybe a future Mario exclusive their games don't excite me much anymore.

They're OOS everywhere from what I could tell. Nintendo just announced two new bundles but they'll be $550.

"Nintendo Switch 2 with either the Mario Kart World game or the upcoming Nintendo Switch Sports Resort game! The bundles also come with a 3-Month (90-Day) Nintendo Switch Online Individual Membership."

The box for the 40th anniversary zelda console also leaked and it looks amazing.
