The URLIFE E20 is a budget 20 inch fat tire e bike that stands out for low price, removable battery placement behind the seat post, and enough speed to reach 28 mph when unlocked. It also feels easy to customize, with owners sealing the control box, swapping brake parts, and adding handlebar risers. The main drawbacks are weak cable brakes, a soft pedal assist that jumps from 0 to 10 mph, and a small frame that feels cramped for riders above about 5 foot 10. The screen is hard to read in direct sun, and the battery and controller quality raise durability concerns. A practical option if the size and stock components fit your needs.

  • Tinkerers who like upgrading budget e-bikes, because the brakes, rotor size, and control box are easy to modify.

  • Shorter riders wanting a low-cost fat-tire commuter, because it can reach 28 mph and the removable battery sits behind the seat post.

  • Casual riders who want a simple throttle bike, because the pedal assist can be disconnected and the hand throttle used instead.

  • Riders over 5'10" needing an upright fit, because the frame is small and the handlebars cannot be raised high enough.

  • People who need confident braking, because the stock cable brakes feel soft and can be beyond terrible.

  • Commuters who need a reliable out-of-box bike, because one unit arrived with a bad controller and needed weeks of back-and-forth to fix.

  • Riders who want smooth pedal-assist takeoff, because the assist can jump from 0 to 10 mph abruptly.

does it have cadence sensor or torque sensor for pedalling? is there ghost pedalling? like there's no resistance when you pedal?
You don't typically get a torque sensor at this price. Will 100 percent be a (crappy) cadence sensor.

any good video tutorial on how to seal the box? I mean, I'm able to figure that out but would prefer a low-friction/ higher-quality path.
i use duct seal putty instead of what some people suggest caulking

I'd say the battery pack will fail early after a few cycles. The range and power would drop. The cells in the pack most likely are inferior genetic brand. All it takes is for a few cells to fail to ruin the entire pack.
Are battery packs easy to replace and are they expensive? Never had an enike but would get one for the wife so we can do longer rides. Thanks

How did you move the caliper out to fit for the 203mm diameter?
you need to buy a 203mm adapter. its a basic bike part and usually only a few dollars. the bike comes with a 160mm adapter on the caliper.

i have two road bikes but i need one for my wife that way i can train better by getting dropped and she can keep up

unlocked it gets 28mph but don't think anyone realistically wants to go that fast on 20" wheels on low pressure

you can easily unlock the speed but 15mph is fast enough than most road bikes and riders

anyone know of a similar bike around $500.-$600 max for a 6-2/230 rider? I'm rehabbing my knee and when at my cabin, no way I can ride me mt bike. This one looks good, but the frame is small.

Mine arrrived not working. It was a bad controller. Tried to go through AliExpress customer service to send a replacement controller... that was an absolute nightmare and runaround. Then dealt directly with Urlife. Took about 3-4 weeks of back and forth. Need videos, need numbers, need pictures 😤... I almost gave up and just bought a new controller from their website but they did eventually send me one. 5-6 weeks later I had a working bike!

What class bike is this? Does it have a throttle or is it only peddle assist?
