The URLIFE E20 is a budget 20 inch fat tire e bike that stands out for low price, removable battery placement behind the seat post, and enough speed to reach 28 mph when unlocked. It also feels easy to customize, with owners sealing the control box, swapping brake parts, and adding handlebar risers. The main drawbacks are weak cable brakes, a soft pedal assist that jumps from 0 to 10 mph, and a small frame that feels cramped for riders above about 5 foot 10. The screen is hard to read in direct sun, and the battery and controller quality raise durability concerns. A practical option if the size and stock components fit your needs.

Common Questions (5)

  • No. It uses cable-actuated disc brakes, and the stock stopping power is described as soft or spongy. A common fix is a larger front rotor or a front hydraulic brake upgrade kit.

  • It fits smaller riders better. The frame is described as on the small side, the handlebars cannot be raised much, and riders around 5'11" say they would not recommend it for their height.

  • Yes. The stock setup uses a 160mm rotor and a 160mm adapter, so a 203mm rotor needs a matching adapter and larger caliper. A bolt-in front hydraulic upgrade kit is also a practical option.

  • Yes. The battery pack sits behind the seat post and is removable, which makes charging and storage easier.

  • It uses a cadence sensor, not a torque sensor. At this price point it is expected to be a basic cadence setup, and the pedal assist can ramp up abruptly.

i bought 2 of these a few weeks ago, and love it, i am 6'1 and im still fine on it, i would like a little bigger bike but for the price i love it
Question,

I am 6'4"/265. What do you think? 😬

Now be nice. 😋 I don't need to do thirty mph or anything. Twenty (fifteen at a minimum) is fine.

I have this ebike, since the brakes are cable actuated, I've upgraded the front brake rotor from the stock 160mm to a larger 203mm rotor. Once the brake pads wear out, I plan on changing the brake calipers to a dual piston setup like the zoom db680 that I have on my other bike.

I've also sealed the bottom control box so no water or dirt can get inside.
any good video tutorial on how to seal the box? I mean, I'm able to figure that out but would prefer a low-friction/ higher-quality path.

Initially thought of using silicone caulk, but ended up going with duct seal instead. there are 3 holes on the box (front/rear/top). To seal the lid, I put a roll of duct seal around the inside of the lid and pushed it onto the control box. I don't have any exposed holes on my control box and I can still access it if needed. Duct seal is like putty, so it is easy to work and form into shape.
Thanks!

Curious how heavy it is. I need to take it on the light rail and curious if I can lift it into the platform easily and then be able to get off with it easily

no videos, I got the idea of the duct seal from the urlife e20 facebook group. someone had done the same with their bike and posted pictures on there. did not know there was a hole on the top of the box until i started sealing the box myself. lots of good information in the group, a lot of owners have upgraded their bikes on there.

I'm 5'11" and pretty tall for this bike. I wouldn't recommend it.

I'd say the battery pack will fail early after a few cycles. The range and power would drop. The cells in the pack most likely are inferior genetic brand. All it takes is for a few cells to fail to ruin the entire pack.

How did you move the caliper out to fit for the 203mm diameter?

it might be tough to peddle, i use it on the lowest seat setting so i can kinda chill back but im sure if i raised the seat like the video of the guy on aliexpress it would be a little better
