Our community has rated this post as helpful. If you agree, why not thank

I bought one of these 2-3 weeks ago for the same price. It is a fantastic value at $300.

Quirks to note:
  • Even though it has disc brakes, because they aren't hydraulic, stopping is a bit soft.
  • Fenders are plastic, they work fine but aren't as high quality as metal ones.
  • Handlebars can't be raised up higher (you can't sit quite upright).
  • When pedaling at max power, the gears aren't tuned so that you can continue pushing the bike's speed higher.
  • Frame is on the small side, if you are above 5'10" I'd strongly recommend a bigger bike frame.
  • Screen has 3 brightness levels and is very hard to see in direct sunlight.
  • Tires are of lower quality compared to the sticky rubber tires on my more expensive e-bike.

Should be just right for you. They aren't to high off the ground and are easy to get on and off of.

I have this ebike, since the brakes are cable actuated, I've upgraded the front brake rotor from the stock 160mm to a larger 203mm rotor. Once the brake pads wear out, I plan on changing the brake calipers to a dual piston setup like the zoom db680 that I have on my other bike.

I've also sealed the bottom control box so no water or dirt can get inside.

I bought this one for my wife. She likes it. We bought a part for the handle bars so they could be set higher.

Did you change front and rear to bigger rotors or just front? The stock brakes are beyond terrible. I've tried adjusting the cable but no luck. Just really spongy.

I did only the front. there's a listing on amazon for a 2 pack of 203mm rotors for around $12. It has a buy 1 get 1 coupon, so you get 4 rotors for 12 dollars. So you have enough for front and rear plus replacements if you wanted to. You also have to get the adapter to accommodate the larger rotor though.

Need to work with my daughter to make a video for this bike, but been lazy and she's back in school.

Braking is the weakest point on this bike, but easy to address.

Easy bolt in front brake upgrade kit:
Rotor: https://www.amazon.com/dp/B0G511SHS9
Caliper: https://www.amazon.com/dp/B07RSH5GDN
Caliper adapter: https://www.amazon.com/dp/B08D9KPL7M

Cheaper options? Probably. Better options? Probably. But a proven $44 kit a teenager can put together with proper tools.

Something like https://www.amazon.com/2-Pistons-...B0FXZVR6RR is better value if you're fine replacing the brake cables. Catazer is a solid brand. And I doubt most people truly wear a brake rotor out during a budget eBike's life unless you have something like contaminants get on the brake pads.

If you can afford a full hydraulic brake system, you're probably better off buying a nicer bike.

At a minimum, replace the pads. Pads are a non-standard size on the stock calipers. Can't vouch from experience, but:
https://www.amazon.com/dp/B0G2LWGNBW
...should be an upgrade. Picked up a set to try for the rears.

Outside of aesthetics, zero point in upgrading the rotor if you don't get a larger caliper. You'd have to get an adapter anyway.

How did you seal the bottom control box?
Deciding whether to buy this or a bike with hydraulic brakes.

Initially thought of using silicone caulk, but ended up going with duct seal instead. there are 3 holes on the box (front/rear/top). To seal the lid, I put a roll of duct seal around the inside of the lid and pushed it onto the control box. I don't have any exposed holes on my control box and I can still access it if needed. Duct seal is like putty, so it is easy to work and form into shape.
