This one is very tempting as it uses AAA and the built-in battery is user replaceable. The lack of usb-c is the only thing that makes me hesitate. I haven't been able to find an emergency radio with those 3 features.

Was going to say that the description clearly says "USB-C", but the 5th of the 9 product pictures shows what sure looks like a usb-b input port. So I tend to agree with your assessment. It's possible it's an updated model with old product photos. But at best that would be a crap shoot unless someone has more definitive information one way or the other.

It seems to me like there's better options out there. One of the alternatives on the page I landed on was $25 with usb-c input (not sure if any cheap ones do usb-c output) and an 18650 with a rating that wasn't a work of fiction.

Be wary of buying these all in one devices, they are usually extremely cheaply made. There are endless sellers of them. Even if they work they don't necessarily work well, with finicky tuning, and one that I bought (albeit a different model) if you ran the LEDs it caused severe interference with the radio.

Motorola TALKABOUT T478 is sometimes on sale as a pair and not only could you communicate even when cellphones are down, it has noaa, fm radio, a small LED, rechargeable, and also takes AAs.

I would bet on something like that before these things.
