Having recently assembled a prior year's version I have to say that paying $35 for 5 minifigs and a bunch of really small non-detailed figurines just isn't worth it to me. To each his/her own but I won't be buying any more of the Advent series. However, if children enjoy opening one each day the anticipation and fun factor might be worth it for them.

Last years Star Wars set was easily the worst Id ever seen... almost all build able droids, maybe 2 minifigs. The value just isn't there for this.

Non-Star Wars regular Lego advent is 35

Soooooo around 23% off with free shipping for something that was just released

35 for 290 pieces with a few figs is within the average range of 10-15 cents per piece for franchise Legos

They do tend to be temporarily difficult to find when everyone scrambles for them right before December so I'm ordering to lock it in instead of hoping for more than $10 off

They will always become cheaper mid December once the point of using it as an advent calendar has been missed

It's 12 cents per piece with a figure every $10, very very typical pricing for franchise Legos - cheap for seasonal themed franchise Legos at that

Given that adults tear these open and eBay the holiday themed figs right away - what price per piece were you (realistically) hoping for?

The regular Lego city advent calendar is $10 cheaper and comes with twice as many minifigures because that realm doesn't lean into robots and spaceships quite as much

I feel like my average $35 gift set gets built in a half hour and forgotten about but this $35 brings a small exciting moment with a $1-5 trinket daily for 25 days....

Just to clarify... you bought an advent calendar for *yourself* and were disappointed with the $1.40/each holiday themed Star Wars toy inside
