I have the older heavier version of this and it's fantastic for keeping with your chainsaws. Gets razor sharp with a good belt sander setup.

I have the x14 and it's been great. I don't know that I would actually use this for hiking like the name implies (still too heavy imo) but the composite/hollow handle do make them lighter than other options

I might have to grab this. I've been swinging the x27 for a year now and have gone through a ton of wood. I love that axe - I bet this is awesome too.

Just bought this last week and it feels very solid in-hand! Super lightweight for my backpacking kit

Lansky's puck-shaped sharpener is good for axes.
But you can also take sandpaper, tape/glue it to a flat surface, and sharpen this just fine.

It arrives "working sharp" as defined by whether it catches on your thumbnail when held at 45 degree angle. This does not feel very sharp relative to knives, but it is the least sharp an axe or hatchet should be.
