These are casual/lifestyle shoes so don't expect good running or hiking performance. Also, being waterproof means your feet will sweat because the shoe won't breathe well.
Community Reviews
Merrell Wrapt sneakers are a casual, wide-base shoe that stands out for stability and a roomy front end, especially for walking, light scrambling, biking, and easy hikes. The $44.99 price also applies to some non waterproof colors, and the wide fit works well for broader feet. The main drawbacks are the arch support and toe box, which feel intrusive or too tight for some, and the waterproof suede can trap heat and moisture. They read more like everyday walkers than serious trail shoes.
Common Questions (5)
They are better for casual walking, easy hiking, and light scrambling than for serious trail use. The thin sole and low-top waterproof design can lack rock protection and arch support under a heavy pack, and they can trap sweat.
The wide front and base can feel roomy and stable for wide feet, and some people specifically like Merrell for that reason. Narrow-footed wearers may find the front loose or insecure, and some report the toe box feels too tight despite the wide shape.
They are not truly barefoot shoes. The Wrapt has a thin barefoot-style sole, but it also has arch support and added structure, so it does not fit the usual barefoot-shoe definition.
The waterproof upper can keep water from passing through the material, but water that enters through the opening can stay trapped inside. That can leave feet hot and swampy, so they are not ideal if breathability matters.
Yes, but it may fail if typed manually and work when copied and pasted. That makes copy/paste the safer way to apply the discount at checkout.

I will try to find some locally first. I have an odd foot with a very wide toe area, super high arch, and the rest of my foot is very narrow. Shoe shopping is an experience.
