I had not exactly the same but similar issue. I bought the membership mainly for offline usage, but it happened more than a few time that it asked me to login in the middle of nowhere, so I couldn't login to see the offline map

They usually also have the same deal around black Friday. I have been a subscriber for a couple of years and find it useful for both the maps and ideas of trails I have not yet explored.

Free All trails took me out into the deep in Türkiye and ditched me for dead. Locked me behind their pay wall with no cell reception.

It comes around quarterly. You never have to wait more than 2 months.

The "plus" membership is required for offline use, and has been invaluable to me on many trips where there was no mobile reception, including parts of Death Valley, Yellowstone, Grand Staircase-Escalante, Arches, Grand Teton, and parts of France and Spain.

I have onx backcountry. I usually use that rather than alltrails, although I have them both. With onxbackcountry, I always download the area map of where I will be hiking, as well as marking/highlighting the trail that I plan to hike. Also, in the event of an emergency, many mobile phones that are 2 years old or less have an SOS feature that allows you to text a message using satellites when there is no cell service available. I have never had to use the feature fortunately.

Thanks for the tips. I have the same AMEX offer as well. 50% off and another 50% off is super nice. I used TCP for 15% too
