if anyone needs a perspective on this item, I offer this from my previous post from the Mega Zygarde box deal thread:
the only reason this box is available is the demand for it is low. It is part of a trio of recent sets (Chaos Rising, Pitch Black, and Perfect Order) that are the three least-liked sets in years that, for the most part, don't have desirable chase cards. for that reason, this box is good for those who just want to rip some packs at MSRP and don't really care that much about getting specific chase cards. you will have a much, much harder time finding products from more popular sets, so if you just want to scratch the pack ripping itch at MSRP, this is fine, just keep your expectations in check. Maybe your kids won't care either that it's not a very popular set and they'll have fun opening the packs anyway (unless they watch youtube or instagram videos of people opening packs, then they'll probably have learned a preference). this set does at least have Greninja which is moderately popular.
for Pokemon card investing purposes, like all sets, this will eventually be worth more than it's worth today despite its unpopularity particularly when it goes out of print (still a year or two away probably?), but it will likely never grow in value at the rate some of the other recent sets will because the chase cards are just not popular and it doesn't contain possible God Packs. Personally, I would NOT waste the space in my house for 5-15 years waiting for this set to gain a respectable amount of value, unless you are happy to just acquire it because it's more easily available and you aren't willing to hunt down the more-popular, harder-to-find sets at MSRP and want to start your investing journey somewhere.

i had the same thoughts, some people on here may be buying this right now to flip. you have better odds at making money with the SP500 than this, just a fair warning
The last set with Charizard was Phantasmal Flames. You are currently better off buying him a cool Charizard card within your budget instead of trying to pull one out of that set. The link below shows the card and prices for each set.
3 years? it is more like 2 years. I remember i was able to get one 151 booster bundle for $26 from Walmart for my daughter birthday in 2024
Yeah, don't look up what those unopened packs would have been worth. My now 9 year old got into the hobby exactly then. With holiday deals and cash back, we were ripping mew boxes for like $50 and Snorlax ETBs for less than that. We didn't know what we didn't know.
We recently found our way back to collecting and... Oof

FWIW, I grabbed a bunch of the less desirable ETBs 3-4 years ago and they're all "worth" 3-4x MSRP now. They'll probably sit there in storage for another few years because I'm too lazy to actually ever sell them.

I've seen this exact point be brought up each year for the past 6 years or so and it fails to materialize. Even the most mundane sets are going up in value after 2-3 years. Shrouded Fable is a great example of general concensus being wrong at the time and it also beat the snot out of the SP 500.
Part of me hopes you're right and this dies down but I doubt it.
