Only thing about the trimmer is that you can not adjust the length to meet your height.

This is in the Question Answer section. It Also says brushless in the corner of one of the string trimmer photos. It is harder to tell than the blower I know. I did Google it as well just to make sure and it is brushless. I hope this helps.DewaltProductExpert

Unlike the DCST922 (which features a brushless motor), the DCST925 is DeWalt's entry-level, budget-friendly 20V string trimmer that utilizes a traditional brushed motor paired with a gear-drive transmission.
Why the Switch in the DCKO215M1 Combo Kit?
DeWalt silently revised the DCKO215M1 combo kit to lower production costs and reduce retail pricing:
* Original Kit Bundle: Included the DCST922 (Brushless motor + 14-inch cut swath + folding shaft).
* Current Kit Bundle: Includes the DCST925 (Brushed motor + 13-inch cut swath + solid rigid shaft).
What This Means for You
If you buy a kit containing the DCST925, you get a reliable trimmer for light-duty grass trimming, but it has a few trade-offs compared to DeWalt's brushless models:
* Efficiency & Runtime: Brushed motors draw more power per minute than brushless motors, meaning you will get slightly less runtime out of a 4.0Ah battery.
* Wear & Tear: Carbon brushes inside the motor generate more heat and will eventually wear down over long-term heavy use.
* Power: The gear-drive transmission compensates for motor torque, but it still has less raw cutting capability than higher-end brushless trimmers like the DCST922 or DCST972.
