You can call the number and tell them you want to cancel; let them know about the the $3 deal and if they say no, tell them you want to cancel anway - they'll put you on hold and should you be able to hook you up or keep you at your current rate.
I finally spoke with a human on the phone. She asked if I got the invite through the mail or email from Sirius. Upon mentioning I found the deal online and wanted to lock in the $3 a month deal, she said I was not qualified and offered me a $6 a month for 12 months plan. I declined.
Today, September 3, 2026, I called SiriusXM about this offer and was informed that it is only valid for 2018 and older vehicles. Despite my willingness to cancel my existing subscription, the retention specialist repeatedly refused to honor the promotion.
In June 2026. I subscribed to the Music & Entertainment package for $5.00 a month for one year because I was unable to secure another three‑year offer. After submitting a negative survey response, I received a call from SiriusXM requesting clarification. I explained that my rating reflected the company's unwillingness to provide a three‑year deal. In exchange for removing the negative review, I was offered the same plan for $2.99 per month for one year, which I gladly accepted.
The inconsistency between these two interactions raises serious concerns about the fairness and transparency of SiriusXM's promotional and retention practices. Customers should not have to resort to negative feedback or cancellation threats to receive reasonable offers, nor should promotions be selectively applied without clear and consistent criteria, especially given my long‑standing subscription history.
SiriusXM's $3 for 36 months promo is a strong low-cost way to keep satellite radio and app access, especially for road trips and areas with weak cell service. The plan is mostly ad free aside from station promos, and some accounts also include streaming through the mobile app, Bluetooth, or Android Auto and CarPlay. The main catch is eligibility, since many newer vehicles and existing subscriptions are rejected, while older radios and invited accounts are more likely to work. Taxes, royalties, and fees can lift the bill into the $4 to $6 range, so the final total depends on the account.
Frequent road-trippers who want the same stations across states, because satellite reception stays consistent where cellular streaming can be spotty.
Drivers who want hands-free music in the car, because the app works through Bluetooth or AUX and includes live radio and on-demand listening.
People in rural or weak-signal areas, because satellite service keeps working where cellular coverage is spotty or nonexistent.
Listeners who want curated music discovery, because the service offers genre stations and algorithmically selected programming.
Owners of newer vehicles, because the $2.99 for 36 months offer can be rejected on radios newer than 2018.
Drivers expecting the advertised price to apply automatically, because eligibility can be restricted to invited radios and the system may reject otherwise valid-looking offers.
Shoppers who need a fixed all-in monthly total, because taxes, royalties, and fees can push the bill above the headline price.
People who want uninterrupted music with no ads, because channels can still include commercials and station promos.
The $2.99 per month 36-month promo can work out to about $3 after taxes and fees for some eligible radios.
It is often rejected for newer vehicles and existing subscriptions, with many accounts showing "not eligible" or being told the offer is targeted to older radios, commonly 2018 and below. Some users still got it on 2023 or 2016 vehicles after chatting or calling, so eligibility appears to depend on the specific radio/account rather than just model year.
Yes. Calling to cancel and mentioning the $3 deal often triggers retention offers, and some users were moved to similar pricing like $4.99, $5, or $6 per month when the exact promo was unavailable.
The all-in price can be higher than $3, with reports ranging from about $3.87/month to $4.24/month depending on taxes and fees. Some users also noted that royalties and local taxes can add roughly $1 to $3 to the advertised monthly price.
Yes. The subscription can be used through the SiriusXM app, and it can be listened to via Bluetooth or AUX in the car; one workaround is to activate the deal on an older qualifying vehicle and stream it in a newer car through the mobile app.
Not always. Some offers were reported as $2.99 for 36 months, but other users saw shorter promos like $3.98 for 12 months or $3.98 for 12 months followed by the regular rate, so it is important to check the fine print before enrolling.

It's already offer $4.99/12 months online.>>> Sorry, your radio is not eligible for that offer.>>>>>> But we found another great offer for you!>>>>>> All Music>>> $4.99/mo. for 12 Months. Then $11.99/mo.From chat agent:>>> Upon checking here, the Music & Entertainment - Monthly - ($2.99/mo for 36 mos) is not available for your 202x CHEVROLET xxxxx. This offer is applicable only for vehicle models 2018 and below.>>> Any promotional plans that you may saw online or other customers, you must have received a direct communication from SiriusXM inviting you to this offer and stating the specific vehicle/radios eligible. This offer is not available on any other vehicle/radio.>>> Qualifying ESN/Device IDs are determined solely by SiriusXM.
They told me my 2017 is not eligible for this promo and only older than 2017 are eligible
Great deal. Just got off the phone with SiriusXM. It turns out this deal is "for radios/cars before 2016." So my car was not eligible. The gentleman walked me through canceling so I could attempt the offer. The system declined me for the reason I've noted. But! They re-signed me at $4.99 for a year.
YMMV but this was a net win for me. Thanks Slickdeals!
Lowest offer I could get the AI to give me as a current platinum subscriber was 5.99 a month for 12 months with the need to change my plan before the 12 months is over or else they charge "then current rates" which would be in the high $20s. Maybe I could have gotten the 3/months for 3 if I got a hold of an actual agent. If anyone is able to do this please let me know!
A fantastic deal, had it before switching out my dead radio for a Beter model. I switched, they didn't charge me a fee (Ive read they usually do), but it went up $4.00 a month.no biggy for what all you get. Its great in my opinion. Keep in mind if you talk politely & respectfully with these folks everything usually goes your way Ive noticed. When you go to their chat feature ask for a supervisor a couple time to bypass their AI chat crap, and get a real person. Review their terms of service also, it pretty thick and detailed.

I understand that, The $2.99 a month for 36 months deal is only available for older radios 2018 and below. Upon checking here the promotion is not available for 2025 XXXX here on our end.
The only offer they are offering me is $3.99 for one year. I can not get them to budge and offer me that $ 2.99-per-year offer.
If you prefer to not talk to a live body and do the dance, try this link for $4.00/mo, 1yr term. Canceled service 1 week ago and this link got me to the payment/submit screen. Still not biting. https://www.siriusxm.com/campaigns/aa-4mo12

Just went through this dance with them and they would not renew my $4 a month plan and the best they could offer was $6 a month, I cancelled and within a week or two I got the $5 a month offer which I took.
I did get offered the $3 for our 2009 Odyssey but we don't drive that one very much. Fine print on that offer is below.
I'm pretty sure taxes and fees vary by state.

Tried online with a 2026 vehicle that just finished it's trial a few months ago, currently without service. Web-site says Ineligible radio. Tried calling the number listed. Went through multiple AI prompts no luck. Spoke to an agent. Agent says that this promotion is online for certain 2018 vehicles that received an invitation.
I tried and got the same bad AI options, and then the live rep told me it wasn't available for any vehicle newer than 2018 also. He said even if he applied the promo, their system would just kick it out.
I chatted with an agent in order to get this applied and it seems like it was a GMC promo and she asked me for the offer name and my radio ID and then went ahead and applied it. I have a 2016 bmw and was on $6/month plan that they just switched me from

No luck for me. Best they would do is $4.99 per month for a year. But, my subscription doesn't end until late September, so I'll try again once my cancellation takes effect.
