Google is notorious for quitting the support after a few years. Never any Google product again.

I've had my Google Home/Nest products for over 10 years without any support issues.

I was heavy into the nest ecosystem but ended up dropping their products entirely after google bought them and raised prices for cloud storage, discontinued support for the protect which was arguably their best product, and then they dropped the secure alarm system. There are much better camera and doorbell options available and the thermostats have been overshadowed by amazon's ecobee.

What're you using for cameras now?

This might be an unpopular opinion but the Eufy POE system for the outside. I also have 4 indoor 4K cameras connected to homebase with no monthly fees. The upstart price was hefty but everything works flawlessly.

These only work in the google app. So if you are still a nest app user with version 1 cameras. Just FYI. I hate the google app so i only buy gen 1 until i cant anymore..

The Google home app has improved. Has alm the features of nest app. I was hesitant to switch but was forced to after replacing my nest IQ indoor with this cam. FYI. Gemini home AI is awesome. You ask what happened during the day, where you left your keys? Did the dog get walked (for Google doorbell cam)
