These still get stick drift. To put a Hall effect joystick would be a few bucks for Microsoft or Nintendo and they still don't put it in their controllers. Shows the level of greed vs wanting a quality product
The Elite Series 2 Core is a highly customizable Xbox controller built for players who want extra paddles, remapping, trigger locks, and a weighted, premium feel. It stands out for comfort and precision, with tight buttons and sticks, strong battery life, and durability that can outlast standard controllers in heavy use. The main concern is reliability, especially stick drift, bumper failures, grip peeling, and occasional button issues. For some setups it holds up for years, but the hardware risks are hard to ignore.
Controller-heavy players who wear out standard pads quickly, because the Elite can last much longer before buttons or sticks start failing.
Competitive players who want extra paddles and trigger locks, because the controller is highly customizable and can prevent trigger breakage during heavy play.
Players who value a weighted, tight-feeling controller with strong battery life, because the buttons and sticks feel high quality and the battery lasts long.
It can develop stick drift, and bumper failures are a recurring issue. Some units last years with no drift, but others report RB/LB failure, double-pressing bumpers, or drift after months or years of use.
It can last longer than a standard controller for heavy use, especially if you use trigger locks and rely on the paddles instead of the shoulder buttons. Some users report years of use with no major issues, while others see grips peeling, buttons sticking, or the controller falling apart within months.
For some players it is worth it because of the paddles, customization, and long battery life, especially if they burn through regular controllers. Others say the lack of Hall-effect or TMR sticks makes it hard to justify at $100+ when cheaper third-party controllers offer similar features.
It uses a 125Hz polling rate, which is much lower than high-polling-rate PC controllers. For latency-sensitive PC gaming, commenters point to Razer Wolverine, Scuf Valor Pro, or Hall-effect/TMR alternatives as better options.
Yes. The controller supports extensive customization, including button remapping, rumble settings, and extra paddles on the back. That makes it especially useful for competitive play or for players who want more control options than a standard Xbox controller.
These are by far the best controllers I've played with. They are also by the the biggest pieces of crap I've ever played with when it comes to stick drift, buttons ceasing to work, and the grip coming off. But when they work, they are great.
With a normal Xbox controller, I can wear out the buttons/sticks in a couple of months of playing. When I moved to the Elite, it took a year or longer before I had issues. I love this controller, and the difference is night and day.
I have a love/hate relationship with these controllers. They are by far the best controller I've ever used and one of the worst for breaking. I had to return several Gamesir controllers because they didn't live up to the hype.
I tell you that version 3 had better have TMR or Hall effect. I'm tired of getting stick drift.
I don't know much about this controller, but your analogy is wrong. Luxury cars also have features and comfort that a non-luxury car doesn't have. They're also purchasing for the status symbol. The thing is you don't show off your controller as a status symbol, and from what i can tell everything is the same, no?
Yeah. it's pretty much like that. Imagine someone who only knows that luxury cars cost a lot more and have them argue that they are not worth itYou are arguing like them. You won't know what you are missing until you get one.
I've owned the Elite series 2 since 2022. I've never experienced stick drift or any issues at all like these paranoid clowns are saying. You guys realize that your single experience doesn't represent the rest of the world, right? I've used this controller so much and it looks and feels brand spanking new with zero problems. A regular controller would have so much visible wear by now.
That being said, this is an amazing controller that is weighted perfectly and the buttons and sticks feel extremely tight and high quality. If you can't afford it, that's your problem. I personally have worked hard in my life to contribute meaningfully to society and society has rewarded me financially for it. I don't sit on my butt all day playing games whining about every time they make something nice for those who deserve it. Especially when those who complaining haven't developed critical thinking skills by actually graduating college, cough cough.

I have two of them and the one I got in 2021 so I don't think it's as bad as ppl think it is also I bought a hall effect controller in the 100 dollar range and it really didn't have same precision and sensitivity as the elite 2 i have and I have the core also i just bought the razr wolverine v3 wireless which feels cheap so id recommend this one but idk
Honestly these controllers are no longer worth it, even on sale. there are plenty of other 3rd party controllers nowadays that are better for much cheaper. a 100$+ controller without hall effect or TMR joysticks is just sad by microsoft. they need to get their sh*t together.
I have two of these, both have stick drift. Sent them back being under warranty. The replacements have developed stick drift. I might play a game or two. A few times a month. Microsoft should do better

All these crybabies on the comments ๐ I've had this controller for over 4 years. Works just like any other controller except for the paddles and feels solid. Buy it Don't buy it quit complaining ๐
The point of these threads is for people to share feedback on the products and the deal. It's been that way for the over 20 years I've been on here. Why are you yapping about people providing feedback on the very place people are invited to provide feedback?
