Last month I paid $10 for 16 AA rated at 2800mAh. Same brand.

While there's no way they're 2800mAh, they're probably twice the capacity of these. Not sure I'd bother with low-capacity AAs.

Just saw the comment from the other poster about 12 for the same price. That's more compelling for what's probably 800mAh tops.

Usually larger capacity doesn't handle more cycles well, solar lights hit ~365 cycles a year and have to withstand elements so I'd go with dedicated batteries
