Works fine to charge my phones and Lenovo laptop. Functionally similar to my $30 Ugreen 65W charger from a few years back. However, only charges my S26U at Super Fast Charging 2.0 speed and not 3.0. I was hoping this would be enough to provide 60W to the phone but it doesn't.

Maybe you're thinking of the older barrel style charging ports. That's not how laptop usb-c charging ports work. Manufactures knew that the minute they added a usb-c port to a laptop, folks would plug whatever half broken gas station phone charger they could find into it, so they built in multiple protection layers using old school electrical components, not just software embedded chips.

Usb-c charging ports that support PD include two back to back MOSFETs that can detect a voltage spike within nanoseconds and physically break the circuit before the overvoltage reaches the power rail. I think most of them also include diodes that protect against shorts and static discharge in pico seconds.

That being said, those tricks only protect the battery and main board. You can still completely fry your usb-c charging port with a high powered no name charger and that frayed Dollar Tree cable in your junk drawer.

It may not charge at full speed, because it does not have PPS (programmable power supply). It does have PD, but the Samsung requires PPS.
