Chirp seems to be go-to for desktop but it requires cables (not sure why we can't just do our own updates, basic excel or csv file, and just upload directly to radio)
I am beginning to think the functionality of adding channels as easily as possible is the #1 feature I would be looking for in a radio.
In the meantime there are also ones like this, it says you just put your zipcode and it lists all frequences with broadcast in the area: https://bearcatwarehous
