Community Reviews
The Onkyo TX RZ70 stands out as a flagship 11.2 channel AVR with strong real world performance, Dirac Live standard, and upgradeable room correction. It is praised for plenty of power, solid build quality, modern HDMI 2.1 compatibility, and testing that appears to beat its published specs. The main hesitation is value, since the RZ30 and RZ50 are often seen as close enough for far less money, especially if you already use external amps or do not need future Dirac ART support. Its 19 inch depth and Adorama return terms also deserve a look before ordering.

My AVRs got taken out by a lightning strike. I want to hold out for an RZ61/71.
1) Onkyo has to revamp the IC so that it can finally handle Dirac ART. While the DSP was specifically called out in the current gen for why ART won't work, the limp mode would also give fits for owners w/challenging speakers (especially if they don't assign the speaker support levels properly and work the amp too hard).
2) Onkyo was noticeably absent from CEDIA this month. No working AVRs means not close to production!
3) Onkyo mentioned 2027 for the new lineup. Does that mean Jan 2027 or Dec 2027? My guess is closer to the end of 2027 based on reasons #1 and #2.
You'll be waiting a long time for the RZ61/71.
People make a big deal of this "limp mode" measurement issue.
It supposedly affects the other PAC units also.
You can go read all the user threads of those units on like AVS.
You'll be hard pressed to find someone that actually heard the issue.
They also make a big deal about ART.
Owning & having experience with it on other setups.
There are many other things you should have before considering it.
Not to mention it's an extension to Bass Control.
Bass Control does the majority of the work.
Imo Bass Control is all the majority of people need.
It actually outperforms its published amp/power supply numbers in real world testing
SINAD testing is also top notch as well
Based on the Audioholics results, I am certain this would pass Amir's testing
Please continue to bring up SINAD all the time. It'll work out. LOL!

More credibility I guess?
For some reason you didnt mention Amirs specific comments about the Denon x3800
There was more than poor SINAD issues, with that unit from his testing.
Amir also posted the response he received from Denon when he reached out to them about the X3800's poor performance
Their response didnt meet his expectations. He stated that in his review
You should know that if you read the review.. ?...
I see the anecdotal information and attempts to cherry pick are still on your playbook.
AND in threads that you stated you would no longer post in....LOL
More credibility, I guess?
And just to confirm , I will continue to bring it up...
Oh..and from someone who stated they would not be posting in PAC threads anymore?..

If it wasn't for supermanrob's penchant for giving terrible advice (especially when it comes to all things Dirac) and your completely biased views on PAC products, I'm not sure there would be material for me to work with!

A full display of speculation, conjecture and backpedaling
I have come to expect no less from you
As for my "biased "opinion....its based on what I actually owned and have experience with
But you know this since you have said you have researched my AVS membership history
That is stalkish...but anyway..
And yes, I know personal ownership experience doesnt matter to you
No need to let facts get in the way of a good story ..right?
This from the guy that keeps telling people it's a bad choice if you don't get a unit that doesn't support ART(or not(2900?)).
Yet he doesn't even find Bass Control a benefit!!!
Tell us you're clueless how Dirac works, without telling us you're clueless how it works!
Speaking of cherry picking/that black kettle.
You constantly pointing to that limp mode "measurement", advising that you're gonna be sorry!!!
There are 5 years+ of PAC owners over on your beloved AVS that disagree with that advice!

I think your superpower is confusion!
The limp mode has been an issue a couple times but not enough to raise a stink here on SD (unlike enthusiast audio threads). I'm only mentioning it because there truly is no "free lunch" w/the uber-cheap PAC AVRs! Although the RZ70 is not susceptible to the limp mode, it's existence as a flagship Onkyo AVR w/o the benefit of ART (and not cheap to boot) should give one pause when spending $1500-$2000 these days!
So show us what either of these TWO people said how/when they "heard" this issue?
Unless you're one of them, if so which PAC unit did you hear it on & scenario?
Based on you constantly pressing turnne about SINAD, you understand we are talking about an audible issue(or benefit) not a "measurement" one!
Why should people pay for ART if they don't use it.
As you mentioned there is no free lunch.
You pay for that access in the price of the unit.
You're a prime example.
How long have you had the 3800 without not only ART but Bass Control!?
