Thank you for listing what's in the Labor Day sale.

A little disappointed, though. Not much of any true deal going on.

As someone that's invested in the rigid line of tools (leaning more towards disappointment in that decision) what makes the DeWalt superior?

Whats fueling your regret in the ridgid line? I've got a couple dewalt and a couple ridgid tools. Trying to decide which route I'm going to commit to. I like the lifetime battery warranty. All my ryobi ones are dying off.

Not trying to interject. Just wanted to share...I had only a Dewalt drill with a battery when I lived in an apartment many moons ago. It didn't really get used much. Years went by and the battery died out of the blue when I needed to put together some furniture. I then realized the lifespan of my tool (s) was mostly dictated by the lifespan of the battery.

Coincidentally, I learned of Ridgid's LSA. I was sold on the idea that I'd never have to worry about any issues with the tools AND batteries. They are decent tools to begin with. TTI makes all the tools anyways.

Having switched to Ridgid also made my decision to convert all my gasoline-powered gardening tools to battery a no brainer. And obviously I live in California.

We all have our own circumstances and we have our likes and dislikes. Just wanted to share my two cents to possibly help out others who may go through the same process

I went from Dewalt to Ridgid and would do it again. Ridgid makes some very good tools. Their new Nuke line is fantastic and you can't beat the warranty. Most of the major tool companies produce good tools with little difference between brands.

i got the trimmer blower as a combo on clearance for $50. at that price point, they are good. the trimmer takes attachments, and i found its significantly better as a hedge trimmer with an articulating attachment than the string trimmer - it just doesnt have enough power, so i keep using the old echo gas trimmer.

blower goes about 15-20 min max on a 4ah battery. its good for sweeping tasks.

i was waiting for the ridgid chainsaw to go on clearance, but i got the 20v hart 12" saw from ollies for $50.

$50 was definitely a steal. Even for one, let alone a combo. As far as power and run time go, that was why I jumped on the 8Ah battery deal a few days ago.I'm also keeping an eye out for the chainsaw. Never seen any deal in it. Lowest was $159, tool-only.

yes, i feel the 8AH max output EXP battery is needed to make the trimmer & blower better...thats why i ended up getting 4x 8ah batteries ($90 on clearance for 2pk).
the 8ah EXP battery does make the blower blow harder than the max output 4ah battery.

Mid Atlantic area. I check out Slickdeals daily, set up notifications, and when I do my truck drives, I visit HD stores along the way, and see what they have and buy it for myself and my coworker. I will say that RIDGID clearance deals were plentiful in store about 2yrs ago. I bought every RIDGID tool on clearance or blemished sale on DTO. Now it's really diminishing... few deals Frown

I also agree with the decision to invest in the Ridgid line. I used to love my Makita tools but also found that I kept my cordless tools a long time and their lifespan was limited by the batteries. And of course, they changed battery formats a couple of times on the 12-volt line so i could no longer get OEM replacement batteries. So I made the decision to go Ridgid and haven't regretted it. I've had several batteries and a hammer drill replaced under the LSA, no questions asked. Just make sure you register new tools and batteries within the 90 initial period. A lot of my Ridgid cordless tools were acquired through clearance sales, including the very useful multitool, the blower/trimmer combo, the 15ga trim nailer, a cordless collated screw gun, and a handheld planer. Almost all of them came with batteries and all of them are great to have on-hand. Like someone else mentioned, I check this deal site religiously and (used to) use brickseek to find inventory. And then I bring a lot of patience to the store on a treasure hunt. Sometimes you really have to look up at all the shelves to find hidden inventory.

As for this chainsaw, I have been waiting for it to go on sale or clearance for a long time. I have the equivalent Ryobi at another house and love it. It's so much easier than having to periodically rebuild the carb on the gas chainsaw or re-tuning it whenever I need to use it. I just plug in the battery and go. However, the Ryobi batteries are NOT covered by LSA and they are starting to fail. So while this is not as great a clearance deal as my other tools, the fact that it comes with a 6Ah battery (most of mine are 3Ah) is really making it tempting. That 6Ah battery would work great with the blower.

Sadly, it's no longer on sale for me. Slickdeals, why have you done this to me!!! 😪
