Deal Hunters like phoinix don't personally touch other people's deals, and in this case phionix didn't request that another team do anything with your deals so it's really the repost rule that is the issue. Since your deal hadn't had any new activity in 5 days it was replaced by phoinix's when it got enough votes for the front page (and any duplicate deals are merged into it as long as it stays active). Most people only look at newer deals due to how the site works so the idea is help make sure they don't miss the deal. But you're right that it can make it seem like deals are stolen, so hopefully we can come up with a better process. There is no Slickdeals without deals, so the last thing we want to do is treat deal posters unfairly. If you have any questions or suggestions you can send them through the Site Issues forum or the Help section at the bottom of the page.

After phoinix posted both deals were live for 9 hours until phoinix's deal got enough votes for front page at which point the Deal Editors checked if it was a repost and found your earlier deal, but since it hadn't had any posts in 5 days it was sent to Deal Talk so there wouldn't be 2 of the same deal on the front page. Not a perfect system since you'd have to watch the time and post the same deal again not to lose the deal you found first...
