Anybody tried riding the standard sized wheel scooters and these larger wheel versions? I imagine it loses a good bit of torque but cruises better.

I have a 500w scooter and a 1600w, but never tried the larger wheels.

I have a 10" wheel Segway Ninebot scooter and a 14" diameter wheel scooter we bought advertised as an AVOPORO or whatever, what arrived was Niuii. Anyway, looks like it came from the same factory as this DYU C4 scooter, though there's small differences (the battery box on the bottom, the storage basket on the back instead of the lockbox/child's seat, higher placement of the headlight). I'll also note that this looks VERY similar (and same specs) as the Phantom R1Pro $399 riding scooter for sale right now at Costco.Larger diameter wheels have more inertia, which means they'll accelerate slower. They also "smooth over" bumps and cracks in a way similar to a more gradual ramp, kind of like having more leverage. This may actually have a net speed and battery runtime savings vs riding bumpy roads on smaller, hard tires.

I think the high weight of this scooter slows the acceleration more than the wheels (my model with extended range battery is significantly heavier, I'd guess around 80 lbs!), but it rides well and feels smooth, doesn't feel like I'll lose control when I go over grass for a minute. While we have 30° incline streets in my neighborhood (a somewhat flat section of my front yard necessitates a 63° slope near the street!) and I find I have to walk the 500W scooter just as often as my 300W Ninebot, but it definitely does have a higher top speed and longer range. It's the Cadillac of scooters XD

Models like this have been out for awhile; pretend pedals are still more popular because scooters are more restricted and sometimes outright banned more than bicycles.

More and cities are applying e bikes rules to these kinds of scooters. Most law say their max potential speed cannot higher than 22mph and allowed speed is 16

I've got one very similar looking to this. It's made by the company zefiora. Paid $208. Has way better stats than this one. 48v 15ah battery and a real 500w motor that peaks at 750. Personally I'd stear clear of this one. I'd be surprised if you'd get 8-10 miles range with that tiny battery. And motor performance would be dreadful, especially on hills.

I feel the 14" wheels are a huge plus on these. Smoother and way better for rough concrete and potholes.
