Community Reviews

Wellsley Farms USDA Choice New York strip loin steaks are drawing attention as a strong $8 per pound beef deal, especially versus higher local steak prices. The cuts are described as solid for grilling, sous vide, and freezing, with some packs showing good marbling and others looking very lean. Availability is the main issue, since multiple stores sold out quickly and stock may disappear by midday. A dependable pickup if you can catch a restock early.

yes, but like any meat that you freeze, it's typically not quite as good thawed as it was pre-freeze. ymmv, but we freeze extra steaks all the time when we end up with extras so we can use them later for lunch or breakfast and we don't quibble over it.
We sous vide all our beef then reheat at 133°F for future eating. When beef is on sale, we'll often sous vide 20+ lbs at once.

It's a garbage club compared to Costco and Sams, I'm really not sure how they fit in the market with Costco having significantly better quality and prices or Sams with the scan and go /online order pickup.
Well, not everyone has a Costco or Sam's in the neighborhood. Nor Walmart, for that matter. And that's the case for us New Yorkers who don't drive. But there is a BJ about 15 mins away by walking and reachable by any New Yorker via subway.

Definitely would never lie, especially about a dollar. Government, regardless, too.

No third world characters running around like Costco, no engineers or doctors running around like Sam 's Club. They also do coupons and have gas stations where you do not have to worry about being killed getting gas and are not hassled by bums for change.

So it's busy because it's good , and you would rather avoid that. As well as give up getting top tier gas for whatever grade BJ's is? Wild take. But to each their own. BJ's coupon prices basically get you to where Costco is priced.

Called the Merritt Island store. Deli girl said they were sold out by noon and the butcher was handing out rain checks. YMMV. Asked if there were any signs of marbling and she said they looked completely red. Supposedly another truck coming in for tomorrow. Maybe a future batch will be different.
I drove a little further than I would have liked but found a car show local to the bjs I drove out too . The quality/ marbling looks great ! I bought 2 3lb packs frozen half and going to bbq the second half with some baked potatoes! The cantaloupe for 99cents was very good and sweet!

These "clubs" make alot of money from membership dues. We always try to get the discounted ones on promo.
I renewed my membership after expiration after I was not going to too bjs for 10$ annually. I couldn't say no at 10 bucks. If I get fuel 2-3 times a year I doubled my membership fee in savings. 8$ newyork strip choice I did pretty good !

Yes, NY Strip. Great price and in stock here in NYC. It's tough to get cheap beef at NYC prices. For comparison, another supermarket, ShopRite is selling Angus NY Strip for $18.99/lb.
Sounds like user error.

$13.79 Manhattan prices.

If Costco's prices are so significantly better why aren't you posting $6.00 NY strips from there? I do not get it, are you a Costco sycophant, an Acolyte or an employee? As far as top tier gas I've seen videos of cloudy Costco gas contaminated by water. I add my own additive package and therefore know what's in my fuel. I do not have to wait a half hour to get to the pump either. I had a Costco membership. I did not care to renew it.

Already showing sold out at the store near me.
I feel like this used to be the regular price, but now $8/lb for steak is a pretty good deal.
Check again. One store here in NYC was out of stock for the past few days but just got restocked today -- the last day of the sale. Just ordered 9lbs for one big sous vide session then freezing for future consumption. For what it's worth, I got myself a $9 BJ membership just for these steaks

good enough for me. i sous vide all steaks then a quick sear to finish. comes out perfect medium every time.
I can't argue with that, it's pretty much around the same price or lower at our local Save-a-lot stores year round.

the strips are one sale item, of course there will be occasional sales.

I have never found one regularly priced item at BJ's that was not more expensive than Costco's regular price. Ever.

the value of top tier is pretty well documented. Cool story about a one off gas contamination experience.
