The Latitude 7420 looks like a solid refurbished business laptop for the money, especially with 16GB of RAM and a Core i5 at around $240. The 16GB configuration is described as worth roughly $100 to $120 on its own, and the lower price is seen as a better value than when it was closer to $280. The main concern is the listing itself, since the photos show 32GB while the text says 16GB, and the seller is not accepting messages. There is also mention that the RAM is soldered and that the rubberized coating can turn sticky over time, making it a decent pick if the spec mismatch is resolved.
Common Questions (4)
The listing text says 16GB in multiple places, while the main image shows 32GB. The practical takeaway is to trust the written specs over the photo, since the image appears to be incorrect.
At around $240, the 16GB RAM configuration is viewed as strong value, with the memory alone estimated at roughly $100 to $120. The lower price also makes it more attractive than when it was listed near $280.
The Latitude 7420's RAM is soldered and not removable, so you cannot upgrade it later. That makes the listed 16GB configuration important if you want more memory, and it also explains why some buyers compare it to other business laptops with similar specs.
The item is being called out as possibly used rather than refurbished, with concern that the listing may be mislabeled. That matters because refurbished units are typically expected to come from authorized sellers and carry a different condition standard.
