The Latitude 7420 looks like a solid refurbished business laptop for the money, especially with 16GB of RAM and a Core i5 at around $240. The 16GB configuration is described as worth roughly $100 to $120 on its own, and the lower price is seen as a better value than when it was closer to $280. The main concern is the listing itself, since the photos show 32GB while the text says 16GB, and the seller is not accepting messages. There is also mention that the RAM is soldered and that the rubberized coating can turn sticky over time, making it a decent pick if the spec mismatch is resolved.
The 16GB RAM configuration can be valued around $100 to $120 on its own.
The Latitude 7420 can be a better buy when priced around $240 instead of about $280.
The Latitude 7420 can offer a solid experience for everyday use, especially for buyers coming from a 7400.
The listing can appear shady because the main image shows 32GB RAM while the text indicates 16GB.
The picture and description can mismatch, including a DDR4-related inconsistency that creates confusion about the exact configuration.
The seller may not accept messages, which can limit the ability to resolve the picture and description mismatch.
The rubberized coating can become sticky or gross over time, which can affect long-term comfort.
