Sounds like an ok deal. Wish there were more details about keyboard (backlit?) and battery life
Pros and cons say it has backlit keyboard.

DDR4 RAM. Don't be fooled by the 32gb specs.
DD4 isn't what kills the deal. This is an office work laptop, not a gaming machine. If this was AMD, the difference between DD4 and DDR5 would be bigger, but it's Intel. What kills the deal is the fact that it's an 11th gen CPU. Intel made huge strides with the 12th gen and later CPUs.

A small computer shop owner told me the DDR5 price is going higher for at least another year. It means more people are going back to DDR4. It drives up the price of DD4 RAM as well.
Last week , 2 x 16G DDR4 SODIMM was $120 in Amazon. Now, they are $180. The price of 32G DDR4 at $180, plus 256G SSD at $52, make this laptop more attractive.

Early this week, I ordered a "2 year old" HP Elitebook Refurbished laptop with 16G DDR5 and 256G SSD for almost $600. But I cancelled the order within a few hours, because I did not want to spend another $220 on 16G DDR5. (for the goal of 32G RAM) 16G DDR5 costs at least $220. And 512G ssd costs $85. When I did the math, a 2-year old refurbished laptop has a total cost close to $1000. That is why I cancelled it.

Yesterday, I did order a different "6 years old" HP Elitebook Refurbished laptop with 16G DDR4 from another store for less than $300. I only need to spend $100 for another 16G DDR4 SODIMM, if I need to.

FYI, 32G DDR5 SODIMM is at least $430.

Because the price of laptop is rising, I had not intention to buy laptop. In normal time, I buy laptop one or twice a year.

A few weeks ago, I learned the deal with refurbished business laptops. (you can google or use AI to find the info).
So, I started to shopping again.

Essentially, big corporations spend a fortune to buy or lease expensive business laptops. After the lease expires, the laptops were sent to wholesalers. They would do the checking and sort out different grades of laptops.
Excellent refurbished cost more. Decent refurbished cost less. Fair refurbished cost much less.
In this current environment, this may be a good idea for consumer with limited budget. Consumers can choose the grade of refurbished based on budget.

After I learned this a few weeks ago, I have been actively searching for a good deal.

I used an 1165g7 with 32gb for several years as my daily driver with a chromebook as mobile backup. Slow and steady wins the race is how I would describe it. Not terrible. Given this is the price of a good chromebook, I'd happily take this over any chromebook. Expect similar speed but without the memory bottlenecks and processing hiccups.

PSA: not sure if this happened to others but I got taxed on the full amount and not the discounted amount; reached out to Newegg, they said to reach out to ebay. At least here in TX is should be on discounted price. Check your final totals!

This is how they calculate for this sale. I made 3 purchases in desktops in eBay using the 20% code. They calculate the amount with the sale tax as normal, then they deduct the 20% of the sale amount (You don't get 20% off on the sale tax). So, you pay higher this way. Example:

1 item $250.00
Shipping Free
Coupon
-$50.00
Tax*
$22.19
Amount paid
$222.19
---------------------
1 item $359.99
Shipping Free
Coupon
-$72.00
Tax*
$31.95
Amount paid
$319.94

(The 20% is 2X use per their instructions and I used it 3 times. The 4th time does not work then)
