The offer should appear under the "Rewards & Deals" section on 9/9.

Likely will require an account in order to redeem, probably can't combine with other offers, etc.,

This promo is a free Big Mac with a small qualifying purchase, and it stands out most as a cheap way to grab McDonald's signature sandwich. The deal is easy to hit with a drink or a small add on, and the app has shown regional prices and targeted offers as low as $1.76 or $2. The main drawback is the sandwich itself, which is repeatedly described as smaller than expected, heavy on bun and sauce, and not worth full price. It works best as a coupon driven lunch rather than a regular menu buy.

My eyes just about watered when I checked my app for the local price for the sandwich alone. $7.79 It's deals like this that are the only times I buy one. $1.79 medium soda, $.030 condiment, and a free Big Mac will be my lunch on the 9th.
Bring your own drink and grab a 4 piece nugget, bam

How? You have to spend a minimum of $2 to get the free Big Mac. What else can I buy that's going to get me as close to $2 without going over by much?

edit: nvm late night after drinks and read your comment too fast

I like Big Mac's, glad to get this deal. For the record - NO, they're not smaller, they've been same size, 1.6oz (10 per pound), for decades.
How lame must your day be to come here and make bitc-y comments? Pathetic. No one came here to read those. No one. So tiresome to have to page thru them to get to actual posts about this deal.
Thanks OP. Repped.

the "big" mac has 3oz of meat, between 2 patties. thats less than a quarter pound, which is often standard for a burger patty. theres almost more bread than meat. that should never be the case. the big mac is an embarassment to what a burger should be.

that said, $2 is the correct price for a big mac. i find removing one of the buns better balances the bread to meat ratio.
A standard McDonald's Big Mac contains a total of 3.2 ounces of pre-cooked beef.
Breakdown of the Meat
  • Number of Patties: 2
  • Weight per Patty: 1.6 ounces (referred to as a 1/10 lb patty before cooking)
  • Total Pre-Cooked Weight: 3.2 ounces combined

Really appreciate your input and totally agree. Worked at McD's when I was 16 (over 20 years ago) and we used the same patties for the Double Cheeseburger on the Big Mac. It's always been the case.

Btw, your rep didn't actually come through on my end, but I appreciate the gesture!

damn i should too. why didnt i think of this. yea the pattie is tiny now. can barely taste it with 3 buns.
Ever since I can remember, I always removed the top bun bc it's the thickest - much less bready that way {if you're OK w\holding & eating it that way}. I think it tastes much better bc you bite right into the burger & not bread.

They've always been all bread no burger. The thing shoulda been two quarter pound patties from the start. Today, at $8, it sure as hell should be.
Where's the beef?

i worked at mcdonald's 20 years ago and the 1/10 patties were definitely bigger in the past and gotten smaller over the years. the cheesebugers, big mac, they all noticeably have a smaller bite than what i remember and i'm not the only one. that the 1/10 lb figure its precooked weight, i'm gonna guess the fat/meat ratio has increased

I'm not gonna lie, but if the McDonald's app would let me add Big Mac sauce to their other burgers I'd eat there all the time.
