I purchased this in 2022 for the same price. It's been surprisingly helpful to keep around as a tinkerer and hobbyist DIYer.

Do you use it for 3D printing? Looks like it would be really helpful for designing some custom models.

I don't have this exact model, but yes, a calipers is extremely useful for that, almost required.

This thing has a dead battery every time I fire it up. Common with these types. Looking for one that doesn't.

I don't have this exact unit, but with mine I have to remove the battery when not in use. Kinda inconvenient, but gotta do what you gotta do.

These are extremely handy for measuring bolts, bike parts, etc. Might get this one as a backup.

Even tho I have far more expensive Mitutoya calipers, for everyday use I mostly use a Harbor Freight stanless steel digital caliper that I bought years ago for under $20. I almost never have to replace the battery in it. It holds up fine, whether I'm using the caliper near daily or if it sits without use for a month or more.
It auto turns off after about a couple minutes of idle time, but I typically turn the readout off manually, promptly after I get my readings.
