Community Reviews
This DeWalt DCD801 kit stands out as a strong value for the drill plus two 4.0 Ah Powerpack batteries and charger, especially when the price drops into the $134 to $155 range. The batteries alone were worth the purchase for some, and the compact pack size still delivers solid power for everyday drilling. The anti kickback feature is the main tradeoff, since it can shut the drill down on tougher jobs like spade bit holes in studs, while helping on finishing work. Stock has also been inconsistent, with units often hidden on top shelves or pulled from the back.

50% off coming from Ridgid/Ryobi seems a bit meh. Any reason for this for diy over my Ryobi brushless hammer or compact drill I got for ~$30/e?
The store I bought from listed 3 in stock @ 134, a few more local stores were down to 1 in stock. Had to get an employee to pull the only one we saw off the top shelf.
RE: Ryobi: these batteries are their newest technology, and will provide more power for tools like impact wrenches. For just a hand drill around the house the Ryobi will be fine, but the DeWalt is certainly better quality. This drill will be supplementing my 25 year old 18v DeWalt drill, which still works fine. Sales on DeWalt are usually tough to find since you can really only shop authorized retailers unless you want counterfeit batteries.
