Its surprisingly not bad. I have it jacked up on 6 inches of risers and its been trucking. Biggest downside is 4mph max instead of 5mph, for jogging.

I started using and heavily researching treadmills for desk use over a decade ago, and again recently. Most people underestimate how hard it is to design a treadmill for this purpose. Here is my PSA:

Most of the cheap Amazon walking treadmills don't even have a warranty, and they get away with it because people buy it and don't use it long.
Do your research before using at an incline while working. Doing so wrecked my back and it might wreck yours.
The motor works harder and belt has more friction when NOT inclined.
There is a huge difference between treadmills rated for 1-2h per day and 6+. If you'll use it for long hours, get one that is designed for that.
I have not used this brand, but it was going to be one of my top choices due to brushless motor and focus on endurance and high weight limit.
I ended up getting one from Costco this time because they're all a gamble and I can return it easily and don't even want the temptation of incline.

I looked at several other brands before buying this model. It's built well and heavier than I expected. It's worth the extra cost over cheaper ones.

I got this when it was on sale a week or so ago. Really, REALLY solid device. I'm 290 lbs. This thing doesn't budge when I'm on it. I highly recommend it.

I have one machine like this for a year. You will need a hand bar to keep balance. You can either go buy a standalone hand bar or choose a machine that comes with it. More, you can get some riser blocks to increase the incline.

You're comparring a civic to a cadillac and saying, they're both just cars and it's not a deal. This is quiet, brushless motor, wider pad, and AUTO incline.

I think it's primarily used with a standing desk so you can walk while you work. You could jerryrig some type of reverse backpack that holds your laptop in front of you so you can walk in nature while you works but then you have tripping hazards!

Just input from an owner of this model, I picked it up back in June for the same price, I'm 6'5" and I was right around 320lbs at the time. I've been using it more as a supplement to walking, I'll usually put one to two miles on it during my lunch hour after walking in the morning. It's been a champ for what I need I usually go about 3.5 mph at a 10 degree incline and it definitely is able to keep up. I'm down to 256lbs, and I still use it a few times a week, especially if it rains or it's too hot to get out for a second walk at lunch.
