I just measured mine (a different brand) that I use every day and its 15". No issues with it being too small.

Its surprisingly not bad. I have it jacked up on 6 inches of risers and its been trucking. Biggest downside is 4mph max instead of 5mph, for jogging.

I've never seen a walking treadmill (meaning no vertical part with bars to grab if you start to fall) that goes above 4mph. Seems to be a liability thing.

I actually have one where the vertical part can fold up or down, and it's limited to <4mph while it's down and can go faster when it's up.

You might be right (I have no stake in this), but are you sure you're comparing apples to apples?

This is an auto-incline model (meaning you can raise it up during use, most walking treadmills are no incline or some have incline that you can only set prior to use), and it has a weight limit of 400lbs (many have a limit of 250lbs). And many have shorter tracks - could be a plus for storage, but if you're planning on walking at 3+ mph, you want a longer track or you'll fall off the back.

Vitalwalk apollo 11 max goes 5mph with no bar, but that and another model under a different brand name is the only one I am aware of.
