The Pathlite:ON 5 SUV is a Bosch mid drive step through e bike that stands out for strong build quality, hydraulic brakes, a Shimano 1x11 drivetrain, and Class 3 assistance up to 28 mph. Assembly is quick from the giant box, the 57 pound weight feels manageable, and the battery can be removed for external charging. Main caveats are the need to check local Class 3 rules, possible battery age on old stock, and missing extras like the shock pump and headlamp. It feels like a high spec commuter and trail bike with limited remaining stock.

  • Commuters wanting a fast pedal-assist bike, because the Bosch mid-drive delivers strong torque and assistance up to 28 mph.

  • Riders who want a serviceable mid-drive e-bike, because the brand-name parts and Bosch system are easier to maintain than off-brand component bikes.

  • Short-to-average riders choosing a step-through fit, because the sizing guidance covers XS through L and the frame is adjustable from a fit standpoint.

  • Apartment riders who need removable charging, because the battery can be taken out and charged externally.

  • Buyers who need a ready-to-ride box, because assembly still takes about 20 to 30 minutes and the box is gigantic.

  • People who want a fully complete accessory kit, because the shock pump and headlamp are not included.

  • Riders who need a throttle, because this is a class 3 pedal-assist bike with no throttle.

  • Heavy cargo haulers, because the rear rack is limited to 25 kg and total load is capped at 140 kg.

You mean LESS restrictive
Where I live, class 2 is generally fine, but class 3 is banned from many areas and requires helmets and have a minimum age requirement, so no, I do mean less restrictive - however, laws are different around the world, so it might be different where you ride, of course.

Just to be clear this is not class 3, but class 2 with a max speed of 20mph and not 28mph, right? Or am i mistaken. Tempting either way. Thanks!
Class 3 w 28/mph.

Every single component on the Canyon is going to be light years ahead of the Ride1up.
Except for the motor. Believe what you want, but I blow by this exact bosch motor every day going up the big hills in SF. If you think Shimano cues vs acerra is going to change your life more than an extra 800w go for it.

I have a Yamaha Crosscore RC with a 500 Watt mid drive motor. This is plenty of power, plus you can actually pedal it and continue getting to your destination without dieing when your battery dies.
Ride1up Vorsa goes up the hill about 50% faster than the Crosscore RC per real tests. https://electricbikereport.com/ya...rc-review/

Well I ordered one of these because it seemed like an established bike company... Showed up yesterday DOA. Fully charged the battery while I was at work and the control unit will not power up. Waiting to see what support suggests but not a great first impression.

I had the same problem and was able to fix it by unplugging and replugging the battery as described on pages 3 and 4 of the guide

Does it come with a fork suspension pump or front light? The installation instructions include inflating the fork suspension and installing the front light, but none were included in the box. Also, does anyone know how to get real customer support? Their 'Canyon chat' with 'AI' was essentially just a FAQ.

The shock pump and headlamp are not included. I suggest downloading the Bosch flow app and Canyon app to register and see more details about your bike ie serial number, components etc.

I thought mine was DOA also. Wouldn't turn on after charging the battery externally. Plug the bike in while the battery is inside of it, you should be able to turn it on and synchronize your bike to the Flow app. Download the updated firmware. Somewhere in that process mine started working.... and it's awesome. There were a handful of various error messages but keep updating the firmware and then go for a ride all the messages will clear up.

Question. If this deal is so good why is it not popular and the bike has been on sale for weeks?
