And there stories of MOD shop guitars coming in with problems and people having a hard time getting Fender to take them back. Most of the deals here are actually deals where there's little downside and people just snap them up. This is more of an opportunity for a certain type of player to get a few hundred dollars off upgrades which is about how much you save.
How many people buy guitar to play? this kind of mod shop guitar is more of a display piece. It's a good opportunity to get a unique spec.

That works, but the price starts at 1899 so that's an expensive wallpaper. The thing about this mod shop deal is that they're giving you a guitar made up of spare parts basically. This could be a real value if they charged 30 to 50% less and had them be assembled in Mexico instead of the United States.

that rosewood neck, bigsby b5 and CuNiFe / Cobalt Chrome are parts but nothing is spare here. They only charge your $200 to upgrade the neck. Paying $200 to have someone swap out the stock maple neck and install a rosewood neck is impossible outside mod shop. I don't think you can get a better deal than this.

Yes, If you're willing to take an 8.5 pound guitar to save money then it's a great deal.

That's true, but with a Les Paul you're getting a mahogany body with a maple cap with a lot of resonance. Fender is an alder body that you're getting the same sound from if it's 7.5 pounds, so carrying an extra pound for no reason isn't worth it to everyone. Eight pounds is really the max you should have to carry for a Strat.

Pulled the trigger on a Strat and went all out on the upgrades ($700+). All my picks happened to be the most expensive options, except for the gold pickguard. A glitch even let me double-dip on the 10% discount, so I ended up getting 20% off, $1519.99 before tax. Incredible deal!
