Former pro pest control guy here. I built a successful extermination business in college to pay tuition, so trust me on this one. Save your money and pass on that retail stuff. If you want to clear out an entire roach infestation overnight and wipe out the nest, head over to Amazon and spend about 25 dollars total. Grab a 1 gallon pressurized garden sprayer with an adjustable nozzle for around 15 dollars, plus 1 packet of Alpine WSG. That packet is the exact non repellent formula actual professionals use inside homes. Mix the packet into 1 gallon of water, seal it up, shake it well, and apply 2 or 3 fine mist coats around your kitchen, under the stove and fridge, along baseboards, around pipe entry points, and inside bathroom cabinets. Let each coat dry for 15 to 20 minutes before applying the next one. It works because insects cannot detect it, so they walk right through it without avoiding the area. It attacks their central nervous system and causes total colony collapse because roaches scavenge on each other and carry the active ingredient back to the nest. It also carries very low toxicity for pets and kids when applied according to the label. Follow the packet instructions carefully and you will be set.

Combat Max Roach Killing Gel is described as a strong roach bait that can also help with ants, especially when placed in cracks, under trim, and around kitchens or garages. The gel is praised for reducing infestations quickly and for lasting through repeated treatments, with some preferring it over indoor bait dishes or granules. A recurring caveat is that it may not work well on ants in every case, and nearby barrier sprays can keep roaches away from the bait.

  • The gel can reduce a heavy roach infestation quickly and keep working with twice-yearly reapplication.

    Scoopzpoopz

  • The gel can be applied in deep gaps and openings to target roaches where they hide.

    Scoopzpoopz

  • The gel can be used alongside a syringe-style application approach by placing remaining bait in hard-to-reach containers.

    Scoopzpoopz

  • The gel can reportedly help eliminate German roaches within a couple weeks when compared to Advion gel bait.

    NeedBargain

  • The gel may not work well for ants even though the label claims ant control.

    washerebefore

  • The gel may fail to eliminate the roach colony even when it is used in bait stations.

    CyanNest3122

  • Roaches may avoid the bait if a barrier spray is applied nearby.

    Scoopzpoopz

  • The gel's effectiveness can depend on application method, since some users report dead roaches after spraying while the gallon jug remains mostly unused.

I see $7.96 at Walmart [walmart.com], perhaps it's regional pricing.

Or even easier and less expensive option is just to mix boric acid, sugar, peanut butter and make a paste. Use tiny drop along dark corners. It glues like a gum. I wouldn't be surprised if this paste has the same or similar ingredients/formula

We were just talking about this at work and a colleague told me he swears by this. I wonder why it's so much more expensive than this gel that's on sale:

MGK Vendetta® Cockroach Gel Bait | Food-Handling and Indoor Uses | Proven Roach Killer | 4 x 30 Gram Tubes | Includes Plunger & Tips for Easy Application

Thanks! I looked into this, and it can work on ants as well. Every spring we have ants come to our home. I bought some bait granules that work well, but I don't want to have little dishes of those indoors.
