Someone just prefer paper books over ebook readers, and who favors the latter ones may just think they are superior than the ones reading with phones... It's all just your own taste. For the price wise, it's all marketing. Almost all handmade items are not accurate or even reliable as the ones made by machine. But people think the handmade ones have more value because they are made by PEOPLE. People have souls, machines don't. That's why human beings need some sort of spiritual life to think about the meaning of life. Extend too far now.
Overall, for all the aspects you have mentioned, no advantages of automatic v.s. quartz..
I'd never buy a quartz watch..
