If you don't need the right angle, I would spend an extra 60 cents and get the 240W LISEN cables: https://slickdeals.net/f/19960797-2-pk-6-6-lisen-240w-usb-c-to-usb-c-charge-cable-5-60

I have a variety of these braided cables from LISEN, AINOPE, and INIU and they're all good...but most laptops charge around 65W and so these, in theory, should be limited to things like phones and tablets that frequently top out at 45W or so. I don't like having to remember which cables I can use with my 100W adapter.

Not really a comment on the deal/price but as someone who had a faulty USB-C cable fry two laptops this week, I'm not sure if I'd trust any cable made by 'Ainope' or any other no-name company selling on Amazon. As I've now had to inform my wife, the extra $10 for a cable from a legit company is weeeeell worth the extra expense.

Sorry this happened to you! If it makes you feel better, this one has tens of thousands of reviews on Amazon and is also "Amazon's choice" meaning they probably paid to be promoted. I have their cables and they work great.

On the other hand, Amazon put their "Prime Air" livery on a large cargo airliner that crashed and killed 5 people last week. So take Amazon's endorsement with a grain of salt. Nothing is really guaranteed.

I buy these a lot when they're on sale because of the right angle connector and have never had a problem with them for charging phones or tablets. I agree that if you're going to charge a laptop it's well worth investing a couple of more dollars in a more robust cable capable of delivering 240W.

In theory, cables that support EPR (240W) are probably more robust than SPR (100W) cables. In practice, it may be nothing more than certification, but that does leave you with more future-proof cables. That's worth 30 cents per to me.

AINOPE and LISEN are both "no-name" brands that at least have a decent track record of quality components and good customer service, so it's equal there.

It seems far more likely that someone was using some cheap, basic, utter garbage of a true no-name cable...twice. Or that the same defective power supply is the culprit.

It's not impossible, of course, but I find it extremely unlikely that you had two halfway decent and appropriate cables be the sole reason for damaging two separate laptops. The common factor here doesn't seem to be the cables...

And in any case, AINOPE is not no-name the way you're insinuating. They've been around a while, have a proven track record, and offer good customer service. There's no reason whatsoever to think these cables will "fry" anything assuming the devices on either end is functioning correctly.

Buy gold-plated Monster cables if that makes you feel better, but these cables are 100% fine.
