Anyone have experience with this one? Is it better than air things?

Does anyone know if this unit has an actual CO2 sensor in it. I'm of the understanding that some of these don't actually use a CO2 sensor, but other sensors to approximate. Anyone know about this one specifically. Seems like a good price

I think all these air quality meters are skeptical at best.

AirThings is quite expensive but at least a fairly reputable company but I have two of their "Plus" models and I have put them side by side for a couple months and the readings are quite different and you would expect them to be within a small % difference at most.

You might expect that, but all of the low cost sensors have significant sample variation - the sensors themselves cost $12-$30, so they don't have serious quality control or calibration. I've worked with a lot of these. Regarding a CO2 sensor, they have a metal oxide electrochemical sensor that reacts to a bunch of things and approximates the reading for CO2, HCHO, total VOC. These sensors are far more useful for relative difference than absolute measurements.

Is this worth the price, or just inaccurate junk?

I went down a rabbit hole looking for cheap air quality monitors earlier this year. As previous posters have mentioned, most on the market are no-name white label units which use a combination of cheap sensors to estimate most of the data.

Long story short, if you want the cheapest device you can get with the actual sensors built into it to directly measure values, here is the one:

https://www.ebay.com/itm/164725226534
(DM72B WIFI Air Quality Monitor Analyzer CO2 Detector PM2.5 Detector TVOC Meter)

That's the model number of the device from the first-party manufacturer. It costs about $100. You can search the model number directly and find sellers directly out of China you can buy it from.

The alternative is to buy it from a domestic supplier which renames it to something else (can't remember what), gives you a certificate of accuracy, and marks the price up to like $300. The domestic one is the exact same unit, you're just paying an extra $200 for the certificate of accuracy for legal certification reasons.

Best of luck, all.

P.S. - Worth pointing out that everything is relative, and having that unit next to one of these cheap ones, yes the numbers between the two are slightly off, but the numbers themselves both go up and down at the same time. So if your goal is just to notice when there are large changes in any of these values, either unit would do.

No and why not just post the model number instead of linking to eBay in the first place?
