As opposed to what? $5 piece of rubber or $150 leather shoes??It depends on the dog and what they do with chew toys. If your dog chew and swallows, everything stuffed animals are bad, rawhide if they swallow too much can be bad. Natural bones can be bad if they splinter and perforate their bowels, and too much rubber if ingested, obviously isn't good either but at least if it's natural, it doesn't have any chemicals in it. The bigger, the dog, the better chance they have of passing things and not getting lodged and having to get bowel surgery. And if your dog ever has a piece of string or wire coming out out of their butt, do not pull on it! It can instantly rip or cut their intestines.
