Hook up and place everything where it needs to be. You must have a spare speaker with a positive/negative terminal. If not manually set up the speakers.
You don't need to wait to have every speaker in order to setup what you got.
That's $1050 so $799 is definitely a steal.
This is still my main setup for the past 14 years. Highly recommend.
Community Reviews
This Energy RC bundle is a strong home theater and music package built around neutral, smooth sounding towers, a matching center, and bookshelf speakers that many find detailed without harshness. The set is described as heavy, solid, and still competitive years after release, with the RC 70s and RC LCR doing especially well for dialogue and full system synergy. A subwoofer is still needed for true full range output, and the main caution is Adorama shipping and support, where damaged boxes, replacement mixups, and long delays have been reported. A good fit if you want classic Energy sound and can get an intact shipment.
Common Questions (5)
Yes, shipping damage and fulfillment problems have been reported often enough to be a real risk, especially with the heavy RC-70 towers. Several orders arrived damaged or were mishandled in replacement processing, so this deal is best if you are comfortable dealing with possible returns or exchanges.
The RC series is generally described as neutral rather than warm, with even frequency response instead of exaggerated highs and boomy lows. Some listeners still find them too bright or sibilant, especially if they are sensitive to aluminum tweeters.
At $799, the bundle is considered a strong price for a 5-speaker Energy RC setup, especially compared with past individual prices that totaled about $1,050. The main caveat is that the value depends on receiving undamaged units.
It includes two RC-10 bookshelf speakers, and they arrive together in a single box. The listing text can make it look like only one is included, but the bundle is a 5-speaker set.
A subwoofer is strongly recommended for solid full-range performance. The RC-70s can handle a lot on their own, but the system is much better with a sub for low-end extension and home theater impact.

I've purchased 3 sets of RC-10's over the years and the styrofoam is pretty sturdy and the box is not flimsy/ Are their shippers purposely tossing those boxes around?
If they've sent your 4 boxes you ought to have two good speaker from those 4 pairs.

Despite being told by their CS rep, Levie D. , that they were "unable to honor the request for double-boxing, and the speakers will ship in their manufacturer's packaging." - they arrived double box. Pretty impressively double boxed to be honest with the bagged foam inserts. Both speakers appear to be pristine even if the foam inside the boxes was broken to pieces again. The bare "manufacturer's packaging" is in no way shape or form enough to ship these things, they just weigh too damn much. Drinks on me to whoever in their warehouse who did the right thing!!
Side note: does anyone know how to properly affix the speaker grills? They are magnetic with alignment pins but I can only get them to attach if I slightly bend the grills in a U shape after attaching the top pins first and then forcing the bottom pins into the grill slots. They still don't attach fully and there is a slight bend to them, but everything else I've tried doesn't work. This is on both speakers with both grills.
