This Energy RC bundle is a strong home theater and music package built around neutral, smooth sounding towers, a matching center, and bookshelf speakers that many find detailed without harshness. The set is described as heavy, solid, and still competitive years after release, with the RC 70s and RC LCR doing especially well for dialogue and full system synergy. A subwoofer is still needed for true full range output, and the main caution is Adorama shipping and support, where damaged boxes, replacement mixups, and long delays have been reported. A good fit if you want classic Energy sound and can get an intact shipment.

Did you have any lucky contacting Energy directly? I tried their support email and that was a dead outlet. I am still stuck in limbo waiting to receive my last tower undamaged. So far I have received three replacement units all damaged. I had one with a fraying cone right out of the box even.

Adorama is taking the piss when it comes to just packaging the damn things up correctly.
Looks like they are still made by Klipsch, no wonder they suck. I thought Klipsch sold them but I guess not.

No, I haven't contacted Energy regarding anything, but at this point I wouldn't be surprised if I got the same treatment you've been getting.

I'd just get a 5-10 year old one off FB Marketplace for $100-200. Beats paying $600-800 for an entry level AVR in today's market that used to cost $400, e.g. a Denon x1800.

How are the RC-10's arriving damaged?. The packaging on them is pretty good, much better than the RC-70 boxes.

I've purchased 3 sets of RC-10's over the years and the styrofoam is pretty sturdy and the box is not flimsy/ Are their shippers purposely tossing those boxes around?

If they've sent your 4 boxes you ought to have two good speaker from those 4 pairs.

Ha, even you got it mixed up. No, they were supposed to replace a pair of RC-70 speakers that arrived smashed to shit. Instead they have now tried to send me RC-10 bookshelves four times (someone else in this thread had a similar issue with that. something in their system is FUBAR with this set). Took a lot of doing that morning while I was seeing red, but I did manage to get them to supposedly send me the proper RC-70s this time. Although they refused to double box them like I demanded to try and help prevent them being damaged, but they were shipped at that point, so I'm going to assume I'm just going to be sending these back again too and just charging back on my CC for a refund (like hell I'm waiting over a month again just to get my money back). Oh, and they also refused to provide me contact information to someone within Adorama itself for the third time.

Dang, either Adorama has really good shipping insurance that covers the cost of all these damaged returns, or they really don't care how much money they lose with all these returns. I suspect it's the former.

Just a shame they're destroying so much shit out of sloth and incompetence. They were telling me they didn't have boxes in their warehouse big enough to fit the towers and they were just listed as "pick and pack" items... they list a ton of HT equipment and speakers. Like What?! They're not all that big. I mean shit, they got box cutters don't they? they got tape? Make one! I did that all the time when I worked in a warehouse. And now with some irate customer(s) they still go "lol fk em"

I believe Adorama mistakenly shows them as "Pair: 59.6 lbs". Everywhere else seems to show them as 59.6 lbs individually.
they are certainly 50+lbs EACH for the rc-70's (i've moved them around enough now lol, I can barely move them, it's not easy)

The description only shows one RC-10 bookshelf speaker in this deal. I see two in the picture though. Do you get two bookshelf speakers or not?

You will get two. They both arrive together in a single box.

I'm still laughing my ass off.

Despite being told by their CS rep, Levie D. , that they were "unable to honor the request for double-boxing, and the speakers will ship in their manufacturer's packaging." - they arrived double box. Pretty impressively double boxed to be honest with the bagged foam inserts. Both speakers appear to be pristine even if the foam inside the boxes was broken to pieces again. The bare "manufacturer's packaging" is in no way shape or form enough to ship these things, they just weigh too damn much. Drinks on me to whoever in their warehouse who did the right thing!!

Side note: does anyone know how to properly affix the speaker grills? They are magnetic with alignment pins but I can only get them to attach if I slightly bend the grills in a U shape after attaching the top pins first and then forcing the bottom pins into the grill slots. They still don't attach fully and there is a slight bend to them, but everything else I've tried doesn't work. This is on both speakers with both grills.

Seems like hit or miss with this company. Definitely concerned that spending $800 for this set will become a problem at some point with customer service. Seems like too many folks in these comments have had a bad experience with Adorama.
