Shows up in English on my end. Any chance you're on a VPN?

Edit: Nevermind, there's two Season 8s. Ones in English, the other in Japanese.

I noticed that right after I made my purchase, but when I scrolled all the way up and down that season dropdown menu, it showed 2 different season 8's you can choose. I tried both back-and-forth several times, and one of those consistently puts everything in English the other in Japanese. It only does that on my end with season 8 (no other seasons). Then I tested all of Season 8 in English, and all of it worked, and was no longer worried about them giving me an extra season 8 in Japanese.

This isn't the purchase price, this is the extended rental price that expires at the whim of Amazon.

Just a little fyi, the Amazon version has a different theme song than the one that aired on American television. I really likes that one, Massive Attack - Teardrop, for me it really set the tone of the show. It's absent from this version due to licensing issues for the track.

I downloaded this show recently for a rewatch and it's weird, it kind of ruins the show a little bit for me not hearing that show as the opening. It might be nostalgia, it might be me being more tired of the formulaic nature of the show as an adult than when I was a kid, it might be that the opening/ending are just that good that not having them really just stinks, idk. It legit sounds and feels silly to me that it affects my enjoyment of the show that much but it is what it is. But I feel it's worth mentioning and knowing about.

I purchased from Fandango last year at this price. Definitely think there is enough quality here to be worth $20, and I disagree about it all being at the beginning. I wasn't as big a fan of the last few seasons, but they were still OK, and the first handful or so are all pretty great imo.

Yeah this isn't a purchase but just a license to watch until the agreement between Amazon and the owner expires.

Found this...

Ongoing Availability: Most transactional video-on-demand (VOD) platforms negotiate long-term distribution rights and routinely renew them to protect consumer libraries and ongoing sales.

Purchased Content: If you already bought a TV show, VOD platforms generally maintain access for users even if new sales are halted.

That of course doesn't mean everything will stay every time, but at least it's not saying "everything you've ever bought will disappear".

What if Amazon and the owner keep renewing, or the owner lets it stay?

I take issue with it being a "purchase" because you don't own it. Just that folks should be aware. Yeah it doesn't happen often.
