$600 off any condition trade on most voice plans

A phone rep said it should work for both iPhone and Android device upgrades without adding a line or changing plan. But it didn't work for me online or at a Costco kiosk.

For Costco members:
Login to Costco, then go through "Upgrade device" on this page to make the deal sweeter ($100 Costco shop card): https://www.costco.com/f/-/t-mobi...d-showcase
I don't see a place to add a trade-in device when I go through Costco. It replaces the $930 promo with $100 Costco shop card promo which is not worth it. Likely because promo terms say "May not be combinable with some offers, discounts, or promotions"

Some users reported success by adding the new phone with trade-in device to the cart first, then following the Costco link to check out. I didn't try that as I didn't want to risk losing the $930 off.

Community Reviews

This is a targeted T-Mobile trade-in promo for legacy accounts, best for customers on grandfathered plans who can keep their current rate and use bill credits over 24 months, or 36 months on newer plans. The strongest reports show up to $930 off, with some accounts getting smaller credits like $600, $730, or $899 depending on plan and eligibility. Costco can waive activation fees and sometimes stack a $100 shop card, though the Costco flow may replace the main promo unless the cart is handled carefully. The main caveat is that many Simple Choice, One, Magenta, Go5G, and migrated accounts never see the offer or only get reduced terms, so eligibility is highly account specific.

I placed an order through Costco yesterday and received the confirmation from T-Mobile. I'm trading in an iPhone 16 Pro and an iPhone 16 Pro Max. The order confirmation shows that both the Costco promotion and the T-Mobile promotion were applied successfully.

I'm an existing customer on the Go5G Plus Plan.

Just tried going through the t-life app with a rep and had no luck. I'm on a simple choice plan. Rep said it was a targeted promo and is no longer active. It may have worked if I tried sooner, but no luck today. YMMV

How were you guys able to grandfathered with old plan?
My magenta plan got "upgraded" to newest plan and I am paying 15% more.
I'm still on the One Plus plan with 5 lines and 2 unlimited tablet lines for $215 a month. That's going to go up once Kickback ends, and once they "upgrade" me, I'm pretty much screwed. I'm honestly dreading it, but I've been lucky so far.

I can't match this price anywhere with any other carrier, even if I drop 2 of the lines.

I'll probably end up keeping just myself, my wife on a "plan" and put my son and sister in law on Mint or some prepaid as they don't need voice lines that much, but I'm still not sure what I'll do about the tablet lines. They're not "necessary," but they definitely come in handy a lot.

Exactly - happened to me.

T Mobile follows the Golden Rule: "We have the gold, so we make the rules"

They will lock you into 3 years by dangling a device, and then they can "upgrade" anyone at anytime for any reason.

Then you have no choice but to pay off the phone in full, or pay for their "upgraded" plan.

This is a TRAP disguised as a deal.

T-Mobile One TE, I only see $300 off over 36 months for iPhone 18 Pro.

What a terrible deal to get locked in for 3 years

--

I do see $900 off pixel 11 pro over 36 months though, which is a good deal if I didn't already have the pixel 10 pro. I'll hold off for the pixel 12 pro!

tforce said my simple choice account qualifies. I will probably get this done at a costco.
I have an OLD nokia phone (from 2010), with an imei #, it should be fine for the trade? can someone confirm.

all carriers abusing the trump admin anti consumer practices. now they are just providing NEGATIVE VALUE and trying to scam users with ai produced marketing scams not lowering inflation but ai producing increasing fraud scams instead.

corporations have no incentive to lower fraud scam waste abuse of ai companies stealing and tricking anyone viewing their slop.

as a result we get worse and worse deals and more and more inflation AI producing NEGATIVE VALUE for society.

Not worth locking yourself in for 3 years. A lot can change in the industry in that amount of time.
This.... T-Mobile is getting sued for being unreliable and breach of contract i would have done this in a heart beat 2 years ago but right now i will not lock myself in over 36 months of rebates or i pay the full amount. Im on a grandfathered plan but ive been seeing peoples getting cancelled without cause i have lost trust. Im lucky but some people aren't so.
