Walmart (directly) has several OPEN BOX 1080p gaming monitor deals that I thought were very good. YMMV

UPDATE: These have gone in and out and back in stock, and the prices have shifted (some slightly less, some more).

It's an LG so it will install malware and spy on you. RAM doesn't do that... yet.

How would this monitor install malware and spy on people?

I think it's technically Windows that installs the adware/malware. It was pretty widely covered. E.g.,

My understanding is that, by default, when you plug in certain types of new hardware, Windows will go out to the Microsoft Store and download apps to support the hardware. Manufactures can configure what apps get installed, and LG has theirs configured to install garbage.

Ok, gotcha. So malware in a non-traditional sense. Also makes more sense as I thought it was target to smarter monitors. I have a 45 OLED and have lately received simple windows asking if I want to install some calibration software and some LG channels. I also have mine connected through USB. I didn't think dumb monitors would be included, but yea, windows does know what monitor is connected.

Ayyy thanks for this, I grabbed a 27" as I've been using a hand me down one from a buddy for a long time that only has 60hz refresh rate and been wanting something with a much higher refresh rate, this certainly fit the bill.
