So many games, if only Nintendo would enable external hard drives or allow hot swapping of microsd express cards because mine is full.
How big is your microSD card? Also how many games do you play in a season of your life? I have a couple forever games, like Mariokart, that will stay on there and I'll play periodically, but for the most part I'll beat a game and uninstall it when I need space. If I am in the mood to play a game I can start the download and it will be ready to play in 15 minutes or so.

Download speeds are so slow even on a 2GB network, for me anyways

how does that work? do you go into GameStop and price match for the physical media?

256GB, which is what, 230 usable? I stick to a lot of replayable games and multiplayer games, so yes Mario Kart alone is 22GB, Smash is over 17GB, Star Fox is 15GB, Overcooked! 2 is nearly 12GB, and I can go on and on, along with games I play for myself like Engage being 16.5GB and Tears of the Kingdom being nearly 16GB. Other replayable games like rhythm and fighting games are all 5-10GB+ each easily, and there are some games like Animal Crossing or Pokemon that I wouldn't delete. Lastly, I play with my partner, and they have their own favorites (Kingdom Hearts and Final Fantasy, anyone?). At these file sizes, constantly deleting and reinstalling isn't very feasible, as I'm already doing now, and a huge, unreasonable pain point. And when your girl, they want to play now! Much less a group of friends at a party with only so much attention span.
So yes, the space isn't enough and buying a 1TB microSD card is prohibitively expensive compared to just buying an external drive like for the PS5.

Well, even the PS5's external drive can only play PS4 games, so games like Star Fox you mentioned won't work. It could be you just like the comfort of being able to play any of them at a moment's notice but I would be curious if you sorted your switch games by last time played how many of those you haven't opened in over 6 months, if you played everything on that SD card over the past 6 months because you enjoy jumping from game to game, then yeah, that is an unfortunate predicament.

Well, PS5 came with a 1TB drive and I added a 4TB SSD, which is nowhere near how much the Switch has in space. I may not remember all the games on top of my head, but your solution is sadly something I've considered and does not work for the both of us using the system.

Ah, yeah that is harder when you have several people using the system. Also, the PS5 is only 825GB, not 1 TB, but yeah, I had a 2 TB myself until I replaced my optical disk drive and I must have damaged something because my drive stopped working.
